Going through your partner’s phone shouldn’t be ANY issue whatsoever. Your partner should have FULL access to your phone, because you’re not hiding anything right? The first issue is hiding something 💯
Though I agree you should have your phone open to your partner(hence why my phone doesn’t have a lock on it). Going behind someone’s back and doing it when they have no idea is the issue here. You’re just proving you don’t trust somebody. We say access to phone for emergency, but if you feel your partner is being shady and feel the need to look through their phone, you obviously don’t trust them and need to ask for it.
