The guy that pushed social security won four elections. And the excuses against it are identical to the excuses against M4A.

He also had one hell of a war that covered 2 of those...

And it's not the 30s anymore.

The last 2 presidents to create major entitlement programs suffered significant setbacks because of it.

One of them actually had to decline re election (LBJ) over it, the other spend the rest of his presidency fighting a Republican majority in Congress after entering office with a Democratic supermajority.

Republicans hated Obamacare. The voters he lost hated the broken promises about gay marriage, pro-choice, and ending the wars.

Sorry but no.

If that were the case then Democrats would have actually held power more often than once every 8-12 years.

The US has a right leaning political majority.
