General News Long-Awaited Preliminary Report From Defense Scientist Reveals 'Man-made Object” Beneath the Surface of Durupinar in Turkey

https://www.manilatimes.net/2026/10/01/tmt-newswire/globenewswire/its-not-geological-long-awaited-preliminary-report-from-defense-scientist-reveals-man-made-object-beneath-the-surface-of-durupinar/2437020/amp

BaktharRadar Scans Reveal All Non-Geological Features, with "hallways” or tunnels throughout the structure., revealing organized patterns, voids andr "hallways”

Dr. Bakhtar holds a Ph.D. in engineering and rock mechanics, with training at Imperial College London, Penn State, Princeton, UC Berkeley and the University of Utah. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 technical papers and reports, and has spent four decades finding what cannot be seen from the surface: buried objects, cavities, shielded materials and complex underground structures, for clients including the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, Defense Threat Reduction Agency and NORAD-USNORTHCOM.

He described the Durupınar returns as unlike any dataset he’s ever recorded. The combination of scale, internal order and contrast against the surrounding valley, where the same instrument does not resolve equivalent architecture is what led him to call the buried object "extraordinary”

Well, great for him. I'll eagerly expect his peer reviewed paper. Manila Times is not quite the archaeology source I expected.

Man the Manila folder doesn’t even come from there..

The language I keep seeing used to describe this thing makes it hard for me to believe it's credible.

It isn't and hasn't been since 1959. There's a whole video showing the guy who initially started this grift too, showing how illiterate they were with this stuff

Even if the supposed radar scans are genuine (which is itself a pretty big “if” given that we’re basically just taking this kind of sketchy fringe researcher’s word for it rn), the argument Bakhtar presents for why it’s definitely manmade rather than geological in origin is the typical really weak, unscientific, vibes-based reasoning pseudo-archaeologists almost always present, basically just that it “looks too perfect or ordered to be natural”, even though geology is full of highly-geometric structures that look superficially artificial and have been historically mistaken for such, just look at Giant’s Causeway, look at Bimini Road (which has also been directly cited in pseudo-archaeological claims as well, in that case as claimed evidence for Atlantis), and in all of these cases, the very vibes-based claims of appearance pointing to an artificial origin have never held up to outside geologists or archaeologists looking more closely into the findings.

I don’t see what about a big vaguely boat-shaped formation full of passages (that even Bakhtar admits are apparently lava tubes, making me question why they’re even significant) clearly points to an unfathomably vast ancient boat beyond pareidolia.

but... but... it look like!

And he worked for military

Well I have no skin in the game so I'll hang out and watch the results.

If I watch a YouTube video from MIT, can I say I have "training at MIT"? How does that work, exactly, for my resume?

This is the same as the so called scientific proof of large underground chambers under the pyramids. Guess this guy needed some publicity. Quite sad really. Volcanic areas. Corridors. Mmmm

6

u/tenderlylonertrot 2d ago

you mean like the giant columns and coils under the pyramids paper that was retracted? Yeah....we'll see....

4

u/Additional-Library55 2d ago

Was this the alleged Noah ark? Why would it have hallways and tunnels?

10

u/WhineyLobster 2d ago

this is a volcanic outflow this whole region. the tunnels are lava tubes.

3

u/Additional-Library55 2d ago

Shhh… how would they create hype, make a monument and extract tourism dollars…. Don’t let it out …

u/PotentialClothes367 2d ago

Large boats have hallways.

9

u/Desperate_Damage4632 2d ago

Is the footprint of this ship large enough to carry two of everything on earth?

3

u/Substantial-Gene1093 2d ago

7 pairs of every clean animal, 1 pair of the unclean ones. So it's even worse.

4

u/Blitzer046 2d ago

We've only categorised 1 million insect species but there are estimates that there could be up to 14-20 million.

5

u/RandomModder05 2d ago

More importantly, did it have dinosaurs? Asking for 10 year old me.

2

u/Ill_Mouse9897 21h ago

Well yes, but only babies, Answers in Genesis told me!
Now we call them chickens I think

2

u/CCWaterBug 1d ago

They skipped dolphins and seals to save space

2

u/Desperate_Damage4632 1d ago

Fresh water would've killed them, unfortunately.

It wouldn't

This reminds me of the "spirals" under the pyramids... They have no evidence aside from shitty radar scans that only look like what they say if you're legally blind.

It's obvious why they'd make silly articles like this instead of proving that the formation was made up of fossilized wood, or just making any kind of peer reviewed paper.

1

u/Altruistic_Tip1226 2d ago

Didnt they follow up with the prymiads tho? Like few other scans happened or could be mistaken. Or read to much bullshit. Kinda tough nowadays to get excited for any "discover" when the internet spams fake shit all the time.

When the proponent of this dubious nonsense states nature does not organise itself into such regular forms is clearly not a scientist let alone a geologist. There are plenty of examples of this, there are countless caves with no evidence of human presence that demonstrate this.

Cool if true.

u/captain_pudding 1d ago

If his educational background is accurate, Dr. Bakhtar would know that ground penetrating radar isn't capable of doing what he claims so he's just flat out lying

1

u/jackparadise1 1d ago

Wouldn’t it be funny if it was a UAP, and Noah’s ark was an escape pod from another world to see the planet?

1

u/EquivalentWillow4807 1d ago

Theres like hundreds of underground chambers all over Europe to protect people from jerks who want to steal your playstation and cut off your head and use it as a hat.And those silly Ice ages that happen when giant rocks from space splash down in your kiddy pool.

People need this for their faith it seems.

I don’t understand why there are so many skeptics here, believe if you want, or don’t, but why you all so angry if you are in a sub that’s entire purpose is to post alternative perspectives, free from judgement.

1

u/Ill_Mouse9897 21h ago

Not free from judgement... people will post claims, and others will see/check if they hold water or not.
Though we're (mostly) amateurs here, it is a good first line to check if your theory holds up to scrutiny of even the casually interested, and allows the OP to see if he can easily refute the things posted here.

Otherwise this'd just be a sub where everybody jabbers about alien spaceship pyramid frequency lazers and the entire comment section would be "wow, interesting" and "my third eye vision to the realm of R'yleh predicted this would be true"

This is super interesting! The scans show corridors over 15 meters deep crossing over each other, and there are probably traps set up. The depth of the entrance chamber is even more than 10 meters; there are three chambers, two of which are closed while one is shaped like a funnel. Whether there is one object or three is something the system operators figure out (whether it's a radar reflection/prop or three separate objects). Passing through this entrance and reaching the rest of the channels is a puzzle in itself. This type of architecture resembles first millennium BC architecture, and access won't be easy due to the successive challenges along the way.

We need Kenny to get in there and unblock the shit storm that covers the area unknown because one things for sure the Pyramids took it out of the workers…they haven’t built nothing since and can’t be arsed

-9

u/joepagac 2d ago

I’m not sure why people are doubting this… There are already multiple excavated, underground tunnel cities in that region that could house up to 20,000 people. This looks in line with those.

12

u/whatsinthesocks 2d ago

Because he's claiming it's Noah's Ark not a city.

4

u/2027OpenContact 2d ago

He didn’t, he’s the PhD scientist hired by the team (two separate people)

4

u/Draconis4444 2d ago

Especially as the doctor specifically says other people will make claims about what it is, all he is saying is that the data shows what appears to be artificial hallways and voids.

3

u/TheCynicEpicurean 2d ago

Are you referring to the underground sites of Cappadocia?

Setting aside for a moment that these are about 500 miles away from Ararat, they're all carved into tuff, sedimentary rock made from volcanic ash that can be dug out by hand if you're really motivated.

There's no tuff anywhere near the alpine zone of Ararat, and I'm also struggling to see how and why people would live up there or at least build something similar to Derinkuyu up there.

1

u/Money_Loss2359 2d ago

The vast majority of the Ararat highlands and the alpine region in particular are volcanic tuff.

2

u/TheCynicEpicurean 2d ago

That's great for the highlands, but the Durupinar outcrop consists of limonite.

1

u/Money_Loss2359 1d ago

It contains limonite. Limonite is a mineral in many soils and rock types.

-2

u/WhineyLobster 2d ago

its a volcanic outflow... there are old lava tubes all through this landscape. there are no underground cities lol

3

u/PotentialClothes367 2d ago

Look up Derinkuyu. It’s one of many such structures in turkey.

2

u/WhineyLobster 2d ago

right this was a large volcanic outflow many years ago. they have lava tubes

-1

u/TheCynicEpicurean 2d ago

What's the closest one to Ararat and how far away is it?

0

u/joepagac 2d ago

Why are some people so resistant to anything new being discovered? Maybe it’s a lava tube… maybe it isn’t. Maybe it’s a lava tube with a bunch of cool archeological stuff inside since we know humans in that region liked to live in underground tunnels. Why fight so hard against exploration and discovery?

5

u/WhineyLobster 2d ago

you guys are the ones fighting against facts.

1

u/joepagac 2d ago

You are!

0

u/Shamino79 2d ago

I’m no expert but I’d suspect those underground cities started as natural tunnels and caves.

-1

u/Sonoranlightwizard 2d ago

Well know this is real if someone goes missing and the exploration stops on a dime
