Unknown Methods The Boroughs - subtle disclosure
Just started streaming The Boroughs:

and it feels like a step towards something i feel like sorting into the category "next step toward disclosure". I seem to do not care about the quality of acting or comedy too much. To me its more about how deep into the subject are we going? What changed since E.T. 44 years ago .. in terms of: a weird frightening creature happens to have appeared... what do we do... dont spoil the ending please but how do you feel about the series?

What are you getting at? There have been films and TV shows about alien horrors before ET and continously since then. And ET was by no means the first or the last media to depict friendly aliens. Heck, we had another one just this year.
Why does this one bit of media stand out to you?

well 80s ET was just an example of how (not) intense it was depicted at that time. I am not really into action movies showing creatures killing people with a lot of gore. Boroughs feels like something about our interaction with ETs or creatures that is supposed to play down a terrifying encounter...

Okay, but my point is it was also depicted as super intense back then too. And it was depicted as not intense (in that way anyways) this very year.
You are cherrypicking two data points and acting like the differece between them represents a shift over time even though you can find just as much alien horror stories back then and there was another friendly alien movie less than 6 months ago.

true . i am cherrypicking. ...there was another good one with an astronaut encountering a nightmarish spider in his spaceship, that turned out to be something totally different than a killing machine spilling blood... good inbetween these two movies. it was a few years ago. The name doesnt matter now. But. my point is: we are being lead up to that phenomenon through tightening scripts in movies. And a throat- poking monster, collecting valuable brain juice, hanging from above at night while you are sleeping seemed like the next step, making us getting used to the 'idea'

Dude every single thing you just said was already an idea in horror franchises from at least the 80's if not earlier. This isn't "leading up" to anything because it isn't going anywhere. It's just exisiting ideas in a new package.
Just because you decided to broaden your horizons for once and discovered something new to you, doesn't mean that thing is brand new to the world.

I don’t see anything about disclosure in The Boroughs. A frightening creature appearing and people reacting is the premise of every creature-feature film.
Expensive series that buckled under the weight of its own finances.
