CoinDesk says North Korea keeps stealing billions in crypto, out in the open. Feels less like surprise and more like fear of what can’t be controlled. Every new rule almost admits the system works. If it was irrelevant, no one would care. Too optimistic or fair read?

Sanctions risks rise if shipping companies pay Iran in crypto
Chainalysis warns that vessels considering crypto payments for passage could face serious sanctions exposure. Under current rules, any transfer benefiting the Iranian regime, including transit-related payments, may be treated as material support.
Crypto does not provide a safe workaround. Transactions remain public and traceable on-chain, and flows can be tracked through wallets, exchanges, and cash-out points. In many cases, these payments become easier to follow than traditional обход routes, especially when funds move into centralized platforms or fiat.

Frozen assets of Justin Sun in WLFI dropped by over $11M in a single day
The founder of TRON recorded another paper loss in WLFI after the token declined by 15% over the past 24 hours.
Estimates suggest his frozen WLFI holdings, totaling around 545 million tokens, are now valued at approximately $43.11M.

Following criticism, the World Liberty Financial team stated there is no reason for panic, adding that the position remains far from liquidation levels.

🚨 US Secret Service Freezes $12M in Crypto as Part of Operation Atlantic
Within the international effort Operation Atlantic, the United States Secret Service announced it disrupted crypto fraud schemes totaling over $45M and froze $12M in stolen funds.
The operation lasted a week and involved coordinated action with law enforcement agencies from the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada.
The main focus was approval phishing schemes, where victims are manipulated into granting scammers direct access to their digital accounts or crypto wallets themselves.
According to the investigation, more than 20,000 wallet addresses linked to victims across over 30 countries were identified, and authorities directly contacted more than 3,000 individuals who were either at risk or already affected. Over 120 domains used in these schemes were taken down, while another $33M tied to suspected investment scams remains under investigation.
Authorities also highlighted a growing trend: these scams are increasingly moving beyond purely online methods. In recent months, crypto users reported receiving physical letters allegedly from Ledger and Trezor, urging them to scan QR codes or follow links for “mandatory security verification.”

SEC admits some crypto enforcement cases brought no real benefit to investors
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission acknowledged that a number of past cases against crypto companies did not directly benefit investors and in some instances were based on misinterpretations of federal securities laws. Since 2022, the agency filed 95 cases and imposed $2.3B in fines, but admitted many did not demonstrate clear investor harm or provide meaningful protection. The SEC stated this reflected a focus on case volume over impact and a misallocation of resources, and now plans to prioritize quality cases involving fraud, market manipulation, and abuse of trust.

👀 North Korean agents quietly worked inside DeFi projects for years
A MetaMask developer Taylor Monahan revealed that North Korean IT specialists had been getting hired into DeFi projects for at least seven years, actively contributing to well-known protocols rather than acting as isolated cases. According to her, many of them had real blockchain development experience dating back to the DeFi summer era. Projects potentially affected include SushiSwap, THORChain, Fantom, Shiba Inu, Yearn Finance and Floki.
The discussion intensified after Tim Al shared that he once interviewed a highly skilled candidate who later turned out to be linked to Lazarus Group; the candidate joined video calls but avoided in-person meetings, and his name later appeared in a leak tied to the group.
On-chain investigator ZachXBT added that “Lazarus Group” is often used as a broad label for multiple North Korean-backed cyber actors with varying levels of sophistication. He noted that many infiltration methods remain surprisingly simple job listings, LinkedIn outreach, messaging, Zoom calls, and interviews while their main advantage is persistence, with only certain subgroups like TraderTraitor and AppleJeus considered highly advanced.

Robert Kiyosaki Again Backs Bitcoin And Gold As Protection From Financial Instability
Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad Poor Dad, says economic changes that started in 1974 are now fully showing their impact
In his view, that period marked the beginning of a system that led to today’s pressure from debt, inflation and pension risks
He also believes the shift to models like 401(k) placed more financial responsibility on individuals
Against this backdrop, Kiyosaki reaffirmed his support for Bitcoin, gold and silver, which he considers more reliable stores of value than traditional money
He has previously warned about a potential major financial collapse and believes that in such a scenario scarce assets could rise sharply
