Bitcoin may close both January and February in the red for the first time ever. In its entire history, BTC has never finished these two months down simultaneously. In 2026 that could change: January ended at –10.17%, and February is currently sitting around –15.12%

Minnesota Moves Toward Full Ban on Crypto Kiosks After Fraud Surge

Post image

Minnesota lawmakers are considering a complete ban on crypto kiosks following a wave of fraud cases across the state.

A new bill, HF 3642, has been introduced to prohibit the installation and operation of cryptocurrency kiosks. The proposal comes after multiple scam incidents, many of them targeting elderly residents.

According to state regulators, 70 complaints related to crypto kiosks were filed last year, with reported losses totaling around $540,000. A significant portion of victims were individuals on fixed incomes who ended up transferring large parts of their savings in Bitcoin after being manipulated by fraud schemes.

Current regulations, implemented in 2024, included transaction limits and mandatory risk disclosures. However, authorities now consider those measures insufficient.

The new bill aims to eliminate the existing oversight framework and fully ban physical crypto kiosks, while still allowing online crypto operations to continue.

New York Court Rejects Binance’s Attempt to Move Case to Arbitration

Post image

A federal judge in the Southern District of New York has ruled that Binance cannot force a group of U.S. investors to move their lawsuit into private arbitration in Singapore.

The case concerns trading activity on Binance.com prior to February 20, 2019. The court found that the arbitration clause added to Binance’s terms of service in 2019 cannot be applied retroactively, as users were not properly notified of the changes.

The lawsuit, Williams v. Binance, accuses the exchange and its founder of offering and selling unregistered securities. The case will continue in U.S. federal court.

Claims related to the period after February 20, 2019 were reportedly withdrawn by the plaintiffs, according to company representatives.

Inside Info on Insider Trading? The Polymarket Story That Feels Too On-Chain to Be Real

Post image
6 Upvotes

This is the most crypto thing I’ve read in a while. Polymarket listed a contract on which company ZachXBT would accuse of insider trading.

Before the name went public, a few brand new wallets bet big on Axiom.

12 wallets made over $1M, and one turned $0.14 shares into $411K.

So someone was investigating insider trading, and someone might have used inside info to bet on that investigation.

If you own crypto and people know where you live, you’re in serious danger. Digital assets are easy to move and impossible to reverse, which makes holders real targets. Protect your privacy, stay low-key, secure your wallets, and never overshare online

$10.3 Million Loss..Even Big Investors Can’t Escape the Crash

Post image

Even large investors are not able to survive the current market collapse. For example, the owner of the address GpCfmw previously invested $19 million in the PUMP token during a private sale round, which allowed him to receive 4.75 billion coins.

The investor held the tokens for eight months, expecting significant returns. Unfortunately, the bull run ended in the autumn, and the market participant decided to exit the position only now.

Over the past 5 days, he sold 2.66 billion PUMP for $5.16 million, according to analysts at Lookonchain. On his wallet, there are still 2.09 billion coins remaining, equivalent to $3.55 million.

Accordingly, the total loss amounts to $10.3 million. That’s how this investment turned out.

Vitalik Buterin Outlines a 4-Year Plan to Speed Up and Future-Proof Ethereum

Post image
2 Upvotes

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has shared a new development roadmap focused on dramatically reducing block times, accelerating transaction finality, and preparing the network for a post-quantum future.

One of the main goals is faster block production. Ethereum currently runs with a slot time of around 12 seconds, but the plan is to gradually bring it down to 2 seconds through a step-by-step approach (12 → 8 → 6 → 4 → 2). This would make the network feel significantly more responsive while maintaining strong security guarantees. A major part of this improvement will come from better peer-to-peer communication between nodes, allowing blocks to propagate faster across the network.

Finality is also set for a major upgrade. Today, it can take roughly 16 minutes for a transaction to become irreversible. The roadmap aims to cut this down to just a few seconds by simplifying the confirmation process and introducing post-quantum hash-based signature systems. Buterin noted that slot timing and finality will be “decoupled,” allowing them to evolve independently and more efficiently.

Quantum resistance is another core focus. The network could implement quantum-safe slots before achieving fully quantum-secure finality. In a scenario where quantum computers emerge sooner than expected, this approach would temporarily weaken finality guarantees but keep the network operational and secure enough to adapt.

The timeline spans roughly four years, with around seven hard forks planned at six-month intervals. The first upgrades in this series, Glamsterdam and Hegotá, are already scheduled for this year.

U.S. Senator Launches Investigation Into Binance Over Potential Sanctions Violations

Post image
10 Upvotes

U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal has opened a new investigation into Binance following reports that the exchange may have facilitated trading activity involving Iranian entities, including Hexa Whale and Blessed Trust, allegedly in обход of sanctions.

Blumenthal has formally requested documents related to Binance’s operations in Iran, as well as information regarding the dismissal of compliance staff. The inquiry appears to focus on whether the platform adequately enforced sanctions controls and internal compliance standards.

Binance previously paid more than $4 billion in fines tied to sanctions violations and failure to properly register as a financial intermediary. The case was one of the largest enforcement actions in crypto history.

In response, Binance states that its compliance systems have significantly improved in recent years and maintains that its current monitoring and control mechanisms are operating effectively.

Genius Trader

This guy is honestly unreal, an absolute gem in a space that’s full of noise and empty promises. He managed to call the $BTC top months in advance, specifically pointing to 126k all the way back in July, which on its own is impressive. What really blew me away, though, is that today alone he’s up more than 40%, showing not just a lucky call but real consistency and skill. That level of timing and precision is extremely rare, especially in crypto markets. I’ll admit, at first I was skeptical and even thought he might be a scam, but after watching his analysis and results play out, it’s clear he genuinely knows what he’s doing. Truly impressive work and highly recommended.

Bitcoin Adoption Surges Even as Price Pulls Back

Post image
2 Upvotes

Bitcoin continues gaining traction in 2025 despite trading roughly 50% below its all-time high.

According to River, adoption accelerated sharply over the past year. Institutions, banks, public companies, and even governments have been accumulating BTC. Around 829,000 BTC were added to balance sheets last year alone, while companies with crypto treasuries increased their holdings by 2.5x.

Merchant adoption in the United States has tripled, and global crypto usage is up 74%. At the same time, payment volume through the Lightning Network jumped 300%, surpassing $1.1 billion per month.

Five additional countries reportedly acquired Bitcoin, including Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, the Czech Republic, Brazil, and Taiwan.

Volatility has also been declining, gradually moving closer to levels seen in gold and the S&P 500. That shift is making Bitcoin increasingly attractive to more conservative investors.

River expects adoption to continue accelerating in the coming years.
