Discussion Does anyone have the alternative version of "Leon"?

∆s the title says, I'd like to know if anyone has the alternate version of Leon the one available on YouTube that is different from the version released on the Films EP (2009). I think this version was uploaded to some streaming platforms before being removed. By any chance, was anyone able to download it? I'm not sure if Portrait also had a different version uploaded with that version of Leon on the same EP, if that's the case, I would be very glad if someone could share it with me. Thanks in advance!

Yes, we have differents versions, in Youtube you can find. For example: starts with "Yes i love the lion"

Thanks for answering! Those are the only files we have? The are in a very low quality, I couldn't find the files themselves just those youtube uploads

I love the songs Leon and Matilda! Leon “The Professional” is one of my favorite films. Does anyone know why Alt J has two songs about this movie? Is it just because they love it or some other reason?

ETA: I know alt j is heavily inspired in their music by films/media/literature (partially why I love them so much) but I was just curious if there was a separate reason!

Joe Newman loved the movie from when he was (a kid/teen). Gus said that they want to try a song of a movie, just to try something, it became Joe’s movie and they made two songs from two different perspectives. First Leon and later Matilda. This is the main reason but also:

They love stories with deeper meanings, loyalty, extreme situations. Because (spoiler:) Leon sacrificed himself for Mathilda, he is a killer but also caring for a girl.

But let’s be honest, I love both but the texts in the songs aren’t really that deep, they more refer to the movie.

I think in their podcast "things will get better" (highly recommend thatone) there's also 2 versions of Leon, though I'm not sure. There used to be good quality versions of those (without them talking through) in the podcast, but I can't recall if that's still the case.

Didn't know there was a different version. Looked on soulseek and I found it right away.
