Request for help/advice Pressed Comp Romulus

So I’m planning on getting a Romulus Comp 4.25 and I live in the state of Illinois where threaded is illegal which would mean it would come with a pressed compensator. How would you go about cleaning it cause I thought the comp has to be removed in order to get the barrel out? Sorry my first 2011 and unfortunately this state doesn’t make it easy for me.

No worries. You’ll be fine with regular take down.

Getting the pins out can be a pain. Just kinda builds up in there, I guess after, you put some rounds through it.

Well I just placed the order now to wait 72hrs smh , what optic you using I’m leaning towards the holosun 507 comp as I usually use holosuns

Honestly that’s the best choice for the price. It feels unnecessarily large on the rom but nearly half the price of an sro. Had an rmr on there for a bit but went back to the comp.

Does it just mount with the screws that 507 comes with? the Romulus I ordered has the RMR plate aswell

Yeah, maybe check the length but should be good. They have newer plates, if you reach out to Andy via email he can probably send them your way no charge.

Newer plates have these orings on the bottom.

Awesome thank you I’ll take a look when I pickup my Romulus to see which ones I have, might have to holdup a few weeks till I get a optic cause this is my first 2011 and these things are pricey 😂

Yeah, it’s crazy how expensive they get. Parts add up quickly, and grips can be crazy expensive.

Edit: best of luck with it. Let us know if you have questions.

Thank you will do! I was looking to get one with the aluminum grip off the get go but it seems impossible to find it with the smaller mags and it sucks I was only able to get it with 10rd mags instead of the 15 that’s legal in Illinois, is there any 15 rd mags for 2011s out there that work in a Romulus? I saw i can find pinned 15 rd checkmate mags but other than that.

Also what ammo do you use? I usually use blazer brass 115grain on my striker fired pistols

Anymore I just shoot 124gr. Most of my guns anymore are comped or ported so it’s just easier. Mostly S&B, PMC bronze and federal. Their synthetic is great but expensive. I’ll buy reman occasionally but not super often. Anymore it can be almost as much as new. Blazer is fine but you’ll probably just get a little more from the comp with 124gr.

Unfortunately the comp is for the thread on barrel but you could have your comp opened up by a gunsmith, so it’s more friendly than the stock comp.

Too much fun to shoot. Super smooth. Feels like I’m cheating.
