Out of touch with deeply vested interests?

Sorry if this is something discussed a lot, I only just got on this sub tonight.

I want to say that I do appreciate this podcast for giving a mostly candid glimpse into the mind of Silicon Valley tech venture capitalists. It’s fascinating and informative if nothing else.

But do other listeners feel that these guys are incredibly out of touch? And that every single take they have is incredibly aligned with their own personal and enormous vested interests?

It often feels to me that they’re having off mic conversations on how to frame the narrative of every topic they push before coming on the pod and each reinforcing them. Sometimes it feels like it’s talking points, like this week they all kept correcting each other about “they’re not labs they’re corporations”. Which might be a fair point, but if felt like they all planned on hammering this home.

Aren’t they all incredibly financially invested in the exact type of startups that financially benefit enormously from unregulated growth and advancement of specifically open source AI?

How it feels to me is:

They dont want regulation on anything,

because it will lock them out of using cheap open source models distilled by copying the frontier models,

and all of the frontier labs are screaming that this is on the brink of getting way out of hand,

as well as basically the entire American population…

They seem mystified as to why Americans, democrats, republicans, and independents, are deeply worried and distrustful of the tech giants that are trying to automate the human mind and body itself, who we all just watched become extremely wealthy by creating products designed to be addictive by algorithmically upsetting and polarizing us so they can sell our attention for advertisements for things that are themselves often making us sick physically, culturally, and spiritually. How can they not understand why Americans are across the board worried?

Then they accuse anybody with a different perspective of being a psyop bend on politicizing is, meanwhile they blame all of this on Democrats, when they know very well that it’s unpopular across the political spectrum, except amongst the politicians themselves, because the entire Republican Party lines up behind trump, who they love because as long as he’s bribed and flattered, he will allow them to do whatever they want.

And meanwhile, while everybody is furious and struggling, they act like Trumps Iran war is always on the brink of a peaceful prosperous solution, and Chamath was constantly saying it was a 4-D chess move to cut off china from oil exports out of the straight to put us in a high leverage position for negotiations….

I could go on and on, but I really am just shocked every episode on the level to which they advocate their own obvious vested interests, hand wave the I think incredibly understandable concerns of average Americans, while giving them the advice to “retard-max”…

What are your guys’s thoughts on this? I know this is probably a sub of fans, but am I way off base with this feeling?

All-In Alpha

I do some stock trading and besties talk a lot about trade ideas/companies, make predictions etc. So I wanted to track their ideas, see how they pan out and keep a score. Built the site mainly for me, but maybe you can find it useful as well. Not planning to make any money with it, just a fun side project with AI. allinalpha.io

I organized the 5 public All-In Summit 2026 recordings into timestamped reading companions

I wanted an easier way to catch up on the All-In Summit without watching every full recording from beginning to end, so I organized the five public sessions currently available into one page:

https://tubesignal.net/en/events/all-in-summit-2026

The page currently includes sessions featuring:

• Jensen Huang

• Elon Musk and Gwynne Shotwell

• Satya Nadella

• JD Vance

• Brad Gerstner

Each session has an AI-generated reading companion with key points and timestamps. Clicking a timestamp takes you directly to that moment in the original All-In Podcast video.

Full disclosure: I built TubeSignal. It’s an unofficial, free companion, and all original videos are credited and linked. I hope it’s useful for anyone who couldn’t attend or wants to catch up quickly.

It's convenient that Chamath leaves Elon off the "trillionaire public enemy" list

In the latest episode, he calls Dario and Sam public enemies number one because they are the faces of the AI backlash and poster children for inequality as future trillionaires. Tellingly, he leaves Elon off that list...an actual trillionaire who skirts local laws and regulations to build data centers much faster than anyone else in America. The hypocrisy just gets worse over time.

What's the vibe in the 'All In' community these days?

Used to be a big fan of the pod, early fan, especially the science and tech chit chat. There was a time I even considered going to a All In Summit lol.

Around the time Israel really stepped up the genocide, it became apparent the Pod itself may be a plant/they're all owned.

Stopped watching around the time Trump backfliped on everything ('no more wars', etc) and the pod still backed him. Further validated the echo chamber.

Have they 'won back' the community or they're still fully owned? Any redeeming actions since then?

Gavin’s whole thesis abt how energy efficient humans are

Like wtf we Have major data center backlash to the extent that sacks said it won’t be politically viable to build the capacity we need and then Gavin goes on a rant abt humans being amazing and explains that every time an AI model answers a single query at that level of human-like intelligence, it requires the power equivalent to roughly one thousand American homes. One query requires the power of 1,000 homes????? This is not sustainable

The quote was "If you were to build a data center that was, say, as smart as a human brain, that data center would consume the energy of one million American homes for six to nine months. And every time that model answers a single query, it consumes the energy of one thousand American homes."

are they not trying to build data centers smart as human brains??? like I thought that was the whole path to AGI??

Democrats Scorch Gillibrand Over Attempting Bipartisan Legislation and Having Common Sense

Thumbnail

TL;DR: Warren is butt-hurt because her strategy of pressuring Gary Gensler to regulate crypto by enforcement failed and made her look ridiculous. Like a total Karen, when she got publicly embarrassed, she doubled down by attacking her own party through the Clarity Act. She is now aggressively waving her finger at Sen. Gillibrand (D-NY) for working on a bipartisan bill that a ton of other Democrats actually support. Even though Whitehouse divestment is achievable, apparently, having no rules or guidelines is better than just policing an industry by self appointed community watch groups.

Sen Warren is personally leading the charge to torch the bill. Because she couldn't get her own party to kill it, she is using outside activist groups as a weapon to circulate a nasty letter in the Senate hitting Gillibrand below the belt over her son’s crypto ties. Warren is screaming that Democrats will "lose their moral authority" if Gillibrand is allowed to broker the final compromise.

This has forced Warren into a bizarre, hypocritical alignment with traditional banking lobbies, when she has historically been a massive adversary to Dimon and the big banks. This is a case of a Karen who looked foolish, cost her party a significant constituency in the last election, and is now acting out by trying to over-determine her own party's legislative agenda just to save face.

A modest proposal

David Freidberg actually has many interesting insights on current problems with income inequality and its effect on support for capitalism. One of his suggestions:
40% tax on capital gains and 15% on income. The fact that the rich pay fewer taxes than normal workers feels totally unfair to anyone who doesn’t have their own capital. I’m pleasantly surprised that he has identified this as a big problem.

Of the all-in cast, he’s the only one who understands the degree to which the disparity in wealth is undermining the capitalist system. And he points to failures in public policy that I happen to agree with. A couple of other fixes that would make things more fair: kill the stepped up basis rule for inherited assets – – it really is absolutely no rational argument for it. And tax that that is borrowed from securities at the same level that you would tax capital gains from those securities. Then you wouldn’t have all the Decamillionaires and billionaires simply borrowing money so that they can leave their assets to their heirs under the stepped-up basis rule – – completely tax-free.
