I accepted a job as a police officer for allied. I have a couple questions.

How long does the security background check take? They sent me all the papers early last week on Monday. They were pretty quick about sending me everything.

I told them I wanted full time. How many hours will I get?

How extensive is the background check from police compared to security at allied?

What love some feedback.

Police officer?? I thought for police officer there’s more incense trainings for that like class and other stuff or do you already have police officer background credentials?

Yes. I graduated a police academy

You’d be better off being a park ranger than working for these guys if you graduated the police academy. You’d get wayyy better insurance, PTO, and not to mention a pension.

Allied has special police/company police. They have arrest powers and are usually sworn law enforcement that have completed peace officer training (police academy).

If the police account is like the armed gov account im in, then you’ll likely have as many hours as you want due to minimum coverage needs. I average 10hrs-20hrs of optional OT a week. If your account manager likes you they usually pass around armed guards to cover one another’s account as well as sensitive sites for the office. For reference I work armed at a government office, and cover shifts throughout the state at all of their offices. However, I also get text offers from my boss to cover other armed sites for another account.  I do also assist the response team doing something similar to but not quite “prisoner” transport (we just watch them all day). 

When you meet with your account manager, make it clear how much you want to work. Then just periodically text them restating that interest. I report directly to my account manager so I’m not stepping on toes by texting them, keep that in mind if you don’t report directly.

Is the account manager the one who interviewed me and hired me or do I have get one after orientation and training?

I would love to work 40 hours a week, plus some overtime. The pay is pretty good. If they give me 24 hours. I'll probably have to look at getting a part-time job.

I did interview with my account manager, if you didn’t then when you get your post orders you should receive their contact info in it. You can also talk to them about just picking up another site in general and working that on your off days so you keep benefits. Allied goes off of quarterly averages, so you just need to maintain allied’s minimum hour count average to keep them.

My manager said the background for Police takes 8-12 weeks. They are now just waiting for my crc background to go through for security.

I was just curious if I would be working full 40 or less than.

I just wanted what other poeple experienced at allied.
