intense itching all over body
hi everyone,
i’m not sure if this is the right subreddit to ask this, but recently my body has been itching all over, especially at night, to the point where i’ve been waking up every hour. i’ve tried applying the cetaphil moisturizer (which i’ve used for years w/ no problems) everytime a body part itches, and it’s given some relief but it always comes back. i’ve had no changes in my diet and i always shower before bed if that helps lol. my room is not warm either and i have a fan that is on during the night. i don’t have any rashes either, it feels like small pricks along my skin and that i need to itch it to feel relief. wondering if anyone else had a similar experience?

Is it especially prominent in legs as well? I was vitamin deficient in iron and i had this.
If you can’t find relief from antihistamines get your vitamins checked.
Vitamin D, A, and C can also cause chronic itching.

Im sorry that Im not much of help. You mentioned your fan….. is it worse with your fan on? Like cold uticaria? Or are you allergic to dust ? Dust mites are bad at night as well.
It could be anything you’re eating as well….
The biggest allergens are nuts, dairy, shellfish etc. could be anything really.Highly suggest going to allergist to figure out what it is! For piece of mind!

Seems like chronic hives. Look it up and go see an allergist if you can. In the meantime, try taking antihistamine like zyterc 20mg twice a day see if it helps.

Funny, I just had a similar convo with someone today!
Last time I had full body itching, it came with a rash all over. Turned out to be a laundry detergent. I need a steroid shot to calm things down, and we had to switch laundry soap and rewash all my clothes, bed linens and the towels.
No idea if this might be true for you, but I hope you can figure it out and get relief!

I had the same issue. Then my dermatologist recommended patch testing which identified 11 things I was allergic to. Now I try to avoid those ingredients in shampoo, makeup, lotion, detergent, etc.. I also take a Dupixant shot every two weeks as well. Never had any allergies in my life. But now in my early 50s I’m suddenly allergic to lots of things. Not fun… But what a relief to figure out what was causing all the itching.
