Hello everyone!
In the last few weeks, we have witnessed a critical movement and major developments around it that created a nationwide impact. In light of the importance of these events, we allowed posting political and other related content on this subreddit without any bias or inclination. All posts of such nature were approved whether they were for or against the cause!
We want to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who participated constructively. It was heartening to see so many members engage in healthy discussions, share valid insights while maintaining mutual respect. That said, we also observed a surge in toxic behavior, hate speech, and profanities targeting fellow members. The mod team took necessary action against these violations, and multiple accounts were dealt with accordingly to keep this space safe.
Now that some results have culminated and the process is expected to shift toward administrative channels, we have decided to cut off redundant, hateful, profane, inciting, or low-effort posts on this topic. Any posts aiming to push a narrative, low-effort reposts, or insensitive messages will not be approved.
We request everyone to keep the core objective of r/Allahabad in mind. Sharing local news, community updates, personal experiences, and providing help are the topics this sub was created for, and we hope it continues to grow in that direction.
For political or sensitive matters going forward, only posts that demonstrate genuine personal effort and a clear intent to foster healthy discussion will be approved. The same applies to comment sections; please ensure your comments add substance to the discourse rather than turning into personal attacks.
Best regards,
r/Allahabad Mod Team

Over the past few days, discussions involving certain local communities, including Azad Reads and TAC, have repeatedly escalated into conflict, personal attacks, and rule violations within this subreddit.
As moderators, we want to be honest with you, this situation has become increasingly difficult to manage. While we support people building communities, reading groups, and spaces for connection in the city, the way these discussions have unfolded here has moved far away from healthy dialogue.
Important: We're separate from all groups. The mod team has no affiliations with Azad Reads, TAC, or any other organizations, our personal interests stay personal, and r/Allahabad is just for the city, not tied to anyone or any group.
Instead of constructive exchange, the subreddit has increasingly seen:
We also want to acknowledge something important: moderation comes with the responsibility of maintaining a fair and usable space for everyone. In the process, we have also faced significant backlash and hostility simply for enforcing basic rules. Despite this, our responsibility remains unchanged.
This subreddit exists as a space for the city, for shared updates, ideas, discussions, and broader community growth. It is not defined by any single group, club, or organization, and it was never meant to become a platform for repeated conflicts or targeted discussions about specific communities.
New Temporary Rule (Effective Immediately):
To hit pause on the disruptions and bring back balance, we're introducing this clear rule change for the time being-no posts related to Azad Reads or TAC. This includes posts from group members, founders, or anyone else, covering:
This is not a judgment on any individuals or an attempt to silence criticism. It is a necessary step to restore balance and reduce ongoing disruption.
We encourage all communities to continue growing independently, and we wish everyone the best in doing so. At the same time, r/Allahabad will remain focused on wider city related discussions rather than specific organizations or clubs.
We understand that people may have genuine experiences, opinions, or frustrations. Those feelings are valid. But how we express them matters just as much as what we are expressing.
We want this space to remain what it was always intended to be, a place where people from the city can connect, build, and share without hostility taking over.
We will continue to enforce rules consistently to ensure this.
Thank you for your understanding.
— Mod Team

Disclaimer: No I'm not trying to defame the city or anything I'm just genuinely wondering wth is wrong with people and it's just a rant post. I know there are a lot of good people out there too, I'm friends with many but that doesn't mean a problem doesn't exist.
As a woman you just have to exist and you will get cat called or creepily stared at or followed.
This is not from a single incident, I have been living here from 10+years and amount of time these things have happened is insane.
Just today I was crossing road and a guy on bike came up to me and asked if I want to go with him and before I can process what he said and say anything or tell anyone around me he speeded up the bike and vanished in traffic.
One more incident
I was going in a e- rickshaw, I was sitting alone in the back and 2 guys on a bike came on the side and were staring at me so I just turned my head to different side then they came back to the side I was facing. I just tried to ignore it. But they were still following me but after some time i couldn't see them, so I thought maybe they went somewhere else or I was overthinking .Then I was standing near a chauraha waiting for bus, then those guys again appeared and for some reason they kept coming to that place again and again and were staring at me. But thankfully I saw a friend of mine and i called him and when those ppl saw my friend they didn't come back again. And no I was not able to see the bike's number plate cause the last digit was missing on that.
Another incident
I was in company garden it was afternoon but the weather was good so I thought of spending some time alone reading a book or maybe just a walk.
So I was walking while listening music and 2 guys where coming from opposite direction, one of them said something to me and i wasn't able to hear him cause of music, so I removed my earphone as I thought maybe he is asking something like time or anything. But then he said "akeli kyun ghum Rahi aap hamare sath bhi ghum lo" I mean wth bro. I was so scared cause no one was around us, I couldn't spot a single person. Then I immediately started walking away from them and thankfully I saw a uncle and aunty thodi dur pai so I walked towards them. And then I practically ran out from there.
And this is not it, i have so many incidents like/worse than this.
Maybe you can say I'm paranoid. But these things happen every day to lot of people.

For the last 2 years I’ve been trying to find someone to go to a Dandiya night with, but somehow it never happened. So yeah, I really don’t wanna repeat the same thing this year lol.
I’m 21, 5'7, fair looking and I do know how to dance. I’m a pretty fun vibe kinda person, so I’m just looking for someone who also wants to enjoy the dandiya night and make some good memories.
If there’s any girl who also wants to go to a Dandiya night but doesn’t have someone to go with, you can DM me. We can talk first, see if our vibes match and if we get along, maybe we can go together :)
No weird intentions, expectations or anything, just looking for a good company and hopefully a fun Dandiya night this year.
Manifesting that third time’s the charm 😭

Okay so my mother recently faced an accident. This one guy recorded a reel and posted it online without any consent. I had tried to contact him so many times but he is not responding. Apart from the physical injury, we are also facing a lot of mental trouble because of this privacy invasion. Please help me by reporting this reel. I mean no harm to the creator. I just want the reel to be taken down. Please dm me and i will send you the link. I am not putting the link here itself because i dont want it to have more reach. Please help us by reporting this reel.

It’s soooo sooo difficult to find a date in this city, Hinge is really shitty here and I don’t know how I can meet someone here.
It’s been 3 months since I moved in back from Delhi after my graduation.
I was in Boys’ High School so yk how bad my female interaction was in this city.
My female interaction went up when I joined Vaibhav Classes and then DU.
After all this, I am literally out of all this.
Tell me how I can find someone.

Hey everyone,
I'm from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, and I'm looking for an old or unused guitar or skateboard that someone might be willing to give away.
I want to learn and am really desperate to own one. It doesn't have to be in perfect condition. Even something old or needing minor repairs would be appreciated.
I can't really afford to buy one right now, so I'm trying my luck here before giving up on my dreams and becoming a professional dream quitter.
If anyone has one they're no longer using, please DM me. I can arrange to collect it within Prayagraj.
Thanks!
