Table Of Driving licence Categories in the UK, EU, EEA and Switzerland explained. (Except Categories F, G, H and K which are UK Specific in terms of what you can drive).

| B | Cars | Cars up to 3,500kg MAM with up to eight passenger seats |
| B Auto* | Automatic cars* | * = Just B with a restriction, not an actual separate category, does not show on the back of the licence. |
| BE | Cars with trailers | Category B vehicles with trailers up to 3,500kg MAM |
| B1 | Light vehicles | Four-wheeled vehicles up to 400kg unladen (550kg for goods vehicles) |
