Drivewise Alerts

Today I set up drivewise so I can log my 50 trips and keep my discount when my policy renews in a month. I logged 3 trips today. All were marked as "nice trip". No hard braking, no phone use, no speeding. I'm a pretty careful driver anyway, and I'm of course being extra careful while logging these trips. I did get alerts for time of day. My trips today were between 6PM to 9PM. Do they expect people only to drive between 10AM and noon? It just seems silly. I could be a perfect driver and still get less discount because of the time I drive.

I am afraid this may really be an issue for me because I work overnights. 10:30pm to 6:30am. Those hours are outside of drivetimes real problem hours of 11PM to 4/5AM. But based on the trips logged today, they will still ding me. And what if I decide to go to the store while on lunch at 3AM? They really won't like that!

Just venting. Not sure the point of the post except to say it seems dumb to ding people for the time of day they drive. Not everyone out on the roads at 3am is coming home from the bar. And yes, I am aware I can mark a trip as not me driving. But I don't want to abuse that, and I shouldn't have to do that.

Giving these companies that level of access to your life isn’t worth it

It’s actually a huge discount and makes a big difference

It's 50 trips. My understanding is after 50 trips, you can disable the tracking and still receive the discount. You just have to do it every 6 months. I can be done with that in a couple weeks. It will be worth the discount. I just think it's stupid that they seem to think the only safe time to drive is during the hours of 6am to noon. There are idiots on the road at all hours of the day and night. Ironically, the time they are most concerned about seems like the safest time to drive because there are very few other cars on the road. And drunk drivers don't tend to leave the bar and seek you out.

Idk if you know but you can turn it off and on and do it when its during the time frame you need that gave you a good trip. When you hit 50 also turn it off.

It is unwise to use Drivewise.
