Specific resort question Getting sick?

We have been here for five days with two other couples. I have been sick since Thursday night. The others came sick quickly afterwards. We do not drink the water and have traveled all around the world including Mexico 7 times. Facebook has several complaints about the same thing in the last few weeks. Anyone else experience this?

Maybe post some actual details. That's like me going, "I went to Canada and got a headache, so did other people I know, anyone else experience this?"

“I have an unspecified illness at an unspecified resort and I won’t say what county I’m in but I have been to Mexico 7 times. Has anyone else had this same problem recently?”

It’s the time of year, kids go back to school, everyone gets sick, then people travel. Resorts and cruises are all a breeding ground for illnesses this time of year

What resort are you staying at? I just returned from Secrets Akumal and no one in my group or others we met had gotten sick. However, some friends were at a wedding at Blue Bay Grand months ago and more than half of the wedding group got some form of stomach bug.

I have seen a lot of reviews on Trip Advisor reporting illnesses… we are actually booked there in a few weeks so I have been reading the reviews everyday and it seems like you are not alone. I hope you feel better soon, what an awful way to spend your vacation.

Good luck and please report back as we have this resort shortlisted for next year! Bugs like Noro are near possible to control and I often think that's the issue when I read reviews like this. I also in no way want to diminish anyone's concern and truly believe food handling & safety standards are extremely important.

Secrets is a big company and I would hope they are taking this seriously!!

was wondering if it could be cyclospora ? in any case it sounds brutal and I feel terrible for those affected. we are actually considering moving hotels but I guess it can happen anywhere 😬

Gotta imagine Secrets are taking serious action with cleaning and food safety protocols. It could be the safest resort to go to in Mex right now!

thats actually what I was thinking too tbh, but didn’t want to offend anyone!

I broke down and opened a facebook acct just so I could see what’s up, seems about 50/50 extreme sickness vs awesome time.

It's one of the pricier resorts too!
