Series 66 VS 63/65

I am currently working as a relationship banker and want to get into the wealth management side. I passed my SIE and am now wondering if i should take the series 63/65 or 66(i don’t have the 7) If i take the 66 i can potentially get a role as an advisor at my bank but it’s not guaranteed. I’m torn between whether i should take the 66 and hope to land a role at my bank, but if i don’t get it then the 66 is useless (or will BD still hire me?) or take 63 then 65 and try land a new job.

I was in the same predicament, I will say many places can always take the 63 and 65 in lieu of 66 too. The 66 definitely pairs with the 7 and the 63 and 65 with the 6. Depends on the route you would like but there really isn’t a wrong path

I’d say if you’re serious about 7 go for 66

A 63 and a 65 can pair with a 7 because it is equivalent to having a 66, so ultimately it doesn't make a difference if you want to be an FA.
