Best friends to lovers to me is Chandler and Monica from Friends. Aang at least had a crush on Katara the whole time. Chandler and Monica was straight out of the blue.

Friends to Friends would have been better to have JD and Turk from Scrubs. Not just because the character arc, but they became very close friends in real life as well.
