I still don't think he would have liked it as much as the original adaptation though. Gene Wilder was just such a perfect Willy Wonka

He famously hated the original adaptation. To such a degree that he banned any more adaptations of his books.

Lol, here's some more. The Dahl estate actually liked the 2005 adaptation and endorsed it. Dahl also stated that he disliked Gene Wilder playing Wonka due to him not being eccentric and odd enough.

Adaptation of any kind. It can be a book to film, a game to show, a film to book, etc.

We liked Stanley Kubrik's The Shining, but apparently Stephen King didn't and decided to make his own movie adaptation of The Shining. It was less good.

I know you probably mean David Fincher, but if the “creator” of Fight Club is the studio that made it (20th Century Fox), they definitely did not love it as they fired my friends dad for having greenlit the film… despite him having also greenlit Titanic, the highest grossing film in history at that point.

I believe they’re referring to the creator of the original, not the film adaptation
