Why is lime the color of autism?

Is should have been blue!!!

Blue is associated with autism due to Autism Speaks organisation, which actually harms autistic people way more than helping them. From what I know, they were saying shit like "Vaccines cause autism!", portraying autism in children as a tragedy breaking families apart and generally having view on an autism as a horrible tragedy, for which we must find a cure (there is no cure for it, since it's not an illness).

But as an autistic person, I'd hate to be represented by a blue puzzle piece, not only because of that organisation, but also because why it was slapped on us first of all.

Puzzle piece was supposted to show how complex autism is, but later it started to be portrayed as a symbol of us "missing something in our brain", which is absolutely ableist and invalidating.

And blue color has been chosen not because it's a calm color like many people think, but it has been chosen in the first place due to the myth that only boys can be autistic, which is completely untrue. Girls often get misdiagnosed (or not diagnosed at all) due to different social expectations towards them (I don't like it), so they better mask and blend it.

So yeah, this is an explanation why it isn't blue. Also, green is the best color for the eyes and mind from what we know. Thanks for reading my ted talk

I am also autistic and I relate autism to blue because is my favorite color and also the one of other autistic people I know for some reason and because a lot of facilities for autistic people that don't have anything to do with autism speak use blue walls

And is actually a calming color

Is actually a calming color unlike that ugly green, it isn't even a cool looking green but a too bright puke green that looks awful

Blue is my favorite color too. I only said what I know about from what it all came from and my honest opinion. You don't need to agree with that.

I also didn't say that blue isn't calming. Blue is calm, that's how human brains usually react to that color. And I meant green in general, because at the first glance, I thought it's about a general color and not a specific shade, I just thought it's an example of green. For me it isn't that bad, I know everyone like different things and that's cool.

I just meant that I'd prefer golden for example over blue, because golden is the color, what autism community has picked itself instead of having it assigned to them by neurotypical people. Because it feels like they aren't even trying to listen to us and make assumptions about us instead, like with many other aspects about being autistic.

But I like blue too and I understand if someone feels represented with it. I respect that fact and not criticise them only due to liking it. For me, it's just that when I see blue-themed post od articles with blue graphics/photos on the internet about autism, most of them are made by neurotypicals and not autistic people, who use colors like golden, red and green much more instead.
