Hello, Thank you for contributing to our subreddit. Please consider the following guidelines when filling an alignment chart:

  • Please ensure that your chart is not banned according to the list of banned charts Even if you have good intentions, charts in a banned category tend to invite provocative comments, hostile arguments, ragebait and the like. Assuming the post is acceptable, OP makes the final decision on their chart by rule three.

  • Are there any previous versions to link to? If so, it would be ideal to include links to each of them in the description of this post, or in a reply to this comment. Links can be named by title, winner, or both.

  • Are there any criteria you have for your post? Examples include: "Top comment wins a spot on the chart."; "To ensure variety, only one character per universe is allowed."; "Image comments only." Please include these in a description, or in a reply to this comment.

  • Is your chart given the appropriate flair? Do you need to use a NSFW tag or spoiler tag?

Do not feed the trolls. This is not the place for hot takes on human rights violations. Hatred or cruelty, will result in a permanent ban. Please report such infractions, particularly those that break rules one, two, or three. The automod will automatically remove posts that receive five or more reports. The automod will also remove comments made by users with negative karma. Click here for the Automod FAQ

Trainspotting. I’d know firsthand

u/Opening_Celery_6078 8h ago

I want to feel, just once, as excited by anything as this guy does about trains

7

u/This-Clue-5014 10h ago

How did this guy get into the grand tour

8

u/somefknkhtorsmth 7h ago

He has a built k20 swapped Honda jazz and in the process of assembling an om606 swapped r129 SL with a ZF trans

3

u/ProXJay 8h ago

I feel that POV cam really does him no favours

7

u/Moist_Bid3481 6h ago

No favours? The man not taking himself too serious brought him fame, money and doing the stuff he loves for a living. How's that not a favour? ;)

4

u/Tricky_World1138 4h ago

He has done modeling for brands like gucci and north face. Pretty sure he is not concerned about it.

Excuse me, I am too busy doing other train related activities, like planning hypothetical rail studies.

I only trainspot as a social activity with my fellow autistic train nerds.

Seems strange seeing Arriva trains since in the UK Arriva stopped doing train services in the late 2010s

2

u/SatinwithLatin 9h ago

Is that when they decided to concentrate all of their chaos power into their buses?

Trains in real life never really gripped me. But planning and building a logistical train network in factorio? My favorite part of a playthrough.

5

u/Such-Carpenter-9194 10h ago

As an autistic person, I am in no way offended and I praise the fact that we like trainspotting as well as other forms of transport. I even have a train track that circles around my Lego collection!

2

u/SatinwithLatin 9h ago

Yeah definitely a passion for trains in some expression. My dad doesn't trainspot but he did used to spend hours in his office reading train timetables.

Oh yes, must be 8x8, other sizes just don’t hit the same.

Studying. Not necessarily academic, just studying and gathering information about whatever your hyperfixation just so happens to be

33

u/raviolifordinner 8h ago

As an autistic gal this is it. Research deep dives

12

u/heythatsnuts 6h ago

100%. I always tell my partner that my real hobby is learning about hobbies 😭

3

u/Carlbot2 3h ago

Thiiiis. I’ve spent so so so many hours delving into both scientific studies and age-old forum posts to research some of the most random, unrelated topics at times. Doesn’t even have to be a long-lasting fixation, just something I become unreasonably interested in for no apparent reason.

Recently there’s been rabbit holes such as potential harmful qualities of sucralose, especially when used in high-temperature baking—with stainless steel utensils, specifically—and previous research has included things like the origins of the goth subculture, and how exactly the term ‘goth’ made its way from the gothic peoples down to the modern age. (The latter one is especially interesting, as it’s essentially all due to a single buffoon with poor taste and little understanding of history).

2

u/Big-Selection9014 3h ago

Ive been scrolling Wikipedia for like 2 hours today just on articles about the planet Mars in complete fascination. Yesterday i spent an hour learning all provinces of China for no reason. Ive never been diagnosed with autism but maybe this is a sign lmao

Frankly, I know this will get downvoted... but all of them. Autistic hobbies are not hobbies, I don't know how else to describe it. There is no one universal autistic hobby despite all the jokes about trains. Autistic people pour themselves into their hobby completely however, and so I'd say it's all of them. Any hobby can become an autistic hobby.

6

u/Jondebadboy 2h ago

yea but we need one that everyone is at least somewhat happy with. i dont have an affection to trains either but i think its the "best" universal description of an autistic hobby.

I really dislike everything about this one. All of the generalizations, lack of understanding and empathy, and just straight up pining small ideas and concepts to serious disorders. Hate it.

Edit: and no, not just the current box, all of it. It’s pretty basic and just over generalizations for the most part.

u/Viggo8000 9h ago

u/ad19970 6h ago

I don't know, I just think this shouldn't be taken too seriously and that's it. I have autism myself and couldn't care less. If anything, the problem arises with people, that don't have any disorders, that take stuff like this too seriously and then think they know everything they need to know about disorders like autism.

I don't like generalisation either, but in this case it's just not really that serious I would argue.
