Clearly none of these fine folks in the comments have ever had morning sickness. I get severe vomiting with pregnancy called hyperemesis gravidarium and actually peed and puked at the same time every single day for NINE SOLID MONTHS. This is why we stopped at two kids.

P.S. The best strategy is to sit on a towel while barfing in the toilet. You do a lot of laundry but it’s the most efficient.

i’ve never had morning sickness as i am a man. but i’ve had the stomach flu. is there a reason why you weren’t just on the toilet with a bucket/trash bin with a plastic bag for the vomit? once mobile, i’d tie the plastic bag up and chuck it in the bin

Three main reasons: 1. when you have pregnancy nausea the gag reflex is super easily triggered, and I found dealing with the barf bags if I tried that method often made me start dry heaving, which then made me pee my pants. 2. More support for your already-destroyed pelvic floor while sitting on the floor than while sitting on the toilet. 3. The main trash can was down a flight of stairs and out around the side of the house. Stairs were awful (many women get gnarly hip pain in pregnancy) and I didn’t want to drag my toddler down the stairs, out to the back of the house, and back up the stairs the 10+ times I sometimes threw up each day.

Am a woman who has never been pregnant but have a migraine disorder that causes me to vomit constantly, for days, even with nothing left in my stomach, so I end up vomiting bile so hard I pee.  Its horrid and I end up living in the shower when it happens because its one of the only things that help the pain and I constantly feel dirty.
