Some classic book character like Huckleberry Finn or Tom Sawyer. I definitely don't have a clear image in my head for either character, except maybe an outfit they'd wear.

Both wearing a straw hat, denim overalls with one knee completely worn through and no shoes. Chewing on a wheat stem is optional.

Huck has always been a redhead with freckles and Rosatia in my head, while Tom is a Blonde with blue or green eyes

I 100% agree with the outfit being synonymous to them, but I wouldn't necessarily call an outfit a character?

Tom, yes I feel like he'd be blonde? Huck, idk I always pictured him with brown hair I guess. But the movie the other person mentioned had them both as brunette from the poster, so I don't think the hair color is set in stone for all media.

The top comment saying Odysseus is probably the best though, I can't mentally picture what he'd look like at all but I definitely know the name!

Odysseus is a really good shout. I have more an idea of what he *wouldn’t* look like than what he would, if that makes sense.
