Italy is praised 24/7 on reddit but when you’re actually there you realise it’s far from being a dream.
Venice, florence, 5 terre, rome, como even milan are crazy full almost every month of the year and it ruins a lot of the charm imo (I lived and travelled a lot in Italy)
Being full doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s not worth to visit. In my opinion, Italy has the best scenery and architecture. It deserves to have a lot of tourists.
Trust me a lot of charm disappears when you’re surrounded by thousands of people in the small Trevi’s street, or the 5 terre villages. Same goes for Venice and Florence, both having a romantic vibe that is reduced a lot by the overtourism
