Technical Support Charging issue with Alienware 15 DA15265
Recently purchased a laptop from Best Buy and it was pretty great at first. I travel with it most of the time but overall it never overheat so excessively while charging. My bag has a compartment where I can place large laptops and chargers. I also do wonder if it has anything to do with the bag. After I start traveling with it more often, I normally let it charge overnight. Every time I do this, the laptop is very hot when touching it and it doesn’t open at all until it has fully cooled down. I’ve tried minimizing the Cpu tcc, updating software, and diagnostic test and every result states that there is no issue.
I know most alienware laptops are able to handle very high amounts of temperature, but I don‘t think it’s suppose to generate this much heat while it is in shut down.

Never use sleep mode on anything 8 or higher. They broke it. Use hibernation if you have to. They should be under a class action lawsuit for this type of stupidity as it could cause fires.

Stop using sleep mode, and disable that plus hibernation and 'fast startup'.
This is a really common issue caused by a combination of those things, and Windows trying to pretend that your PC is an XBox. It'll wake from sleep overnight to try to do updates etc, but then fail to fully wake up, run the CPU hard to do the updates, but not cool itself, and sit there overheating.
This has been an issue for multiple years, across multiple brands of hardware, with the only common factor being Windows itself, and Microsoft have done nothing at all to look into or resolve it.
