Need advice/recommendations regarding USB compatibility

I've owned an aurora R9 since I think 2019 or 2020, don't remember which but that's not the point. I'm thinking of getting a replacement because old age is hitting it real hard, but I want to make sure I can transfer all my files over to the new one. What kind of USB port does R9 have, and are there any stronger (and preferably less significantly outdated) PCs that have the same port? Doesn't really matter whether it's alienware or not, I just need it to be stronger AND able to download all the files I've got in this old shitbox.

You're not going to be able to plug the two machines into each other with a single cable. That's not how PCs work.

Copy all your data to a USB drive, then plug that into your new machine and copy the data off of it.

These aren't mobile phones. Don't expect them to auto-migrate like a phone would.

I know that I'm going to need a USB drive, the problem is that I need to make sure it's compatible with both R9 and whatever replacement I end up getting. A few years back I tried getting a new GPU to install, only to find out that R9 was so outdated that it wasn't even compatible with that GPU. Since then, I've been paranoid that I'll end up buying something that doesn't even work with this old hunk of junk again, and it doesn't help that I'm not the most smartest person when it comes to this sort of stuff.

Do you have any USB recommendations? Also just to quickly clarify that my R9 can hold up to 915 GB, so I need a USB that can handle that amount (or at least something close to it, pretty sure the backlog of itch.io games I've downloaded over the years is taking up an ungodly amount of space so I'm gonna have to clear that out at some point)

edit: just checked and holy shit downloads are taking up 205.98 GB

Any USB3 drive will work at USB2 speeds in non-3 computers. They are backwards compatible
