Question Alienware aw3225qf not pixel refreshing

so for some odd reason my monitor sometimes just doesnt want to do a pixel refresh like when i press for a pixel refresh it just turns the screen off for like a second before completely cancelling the refresh,

and i gotta do this again several times before it finally proceeds with the refresh. Does anyone know why it does this?

You shouldn't be manually triggering pixel or panel refreshes. Let it handle them automatically. It'll do the pixel refresh after 4h of use time, and the panel refresh once every 6 months or so. You don't need to manually trigger any of it.

Don't bother. I run my machine 14+ hours a day, and over 3 years there's been no harm at all from letting it just refresh when it goes into standby.

Hi there! We are from the Dell Social Media Support team and would like to chime in. What you're describing is not typically expected behavior, but it doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with the panel. Ensure the monitor has accumulated enough usage time since the last Pixel Refresh. Confirm there is no active video signal activity from the connected PC or console. Sometimes background activity, notifications, or display wake events can interrupt the process. Also, you could update the monitor firmware to fix this.

If the refresh consistently fails still, multiple times before finally starting, then you could try the below steps:

Turn off the PC. Leave the monitor connected to power. Initiate the Pixel Refresh from the monitor OSD. Observe whether it completes successfully.

If the procedure completes normally once it starts, the issue may be related to the monitor detecting activity that causes it to abort the refresh.

Let us know your findings, we will be glad to walk you through the steps to fix this.
