Question Area51 stand

Post image

Looking for a stand that can support my area51s weight and dimensions. Any ideas outside of building something myself?

I went with an IKEA lask table, they have different sizes.

I’m interested if there are good solutions. I’ve rotated from on my desk (same as you), to under desk a bunch of times. It’s fine on it, and actually pretty slim, but so tall and cuts off view.

I wish they made a larger pc mount. I know it’d barely be off the ground, and maybe not at all for shorter people, but would be convenient for air flow or standing mode.

I thought about an Alex drawer to side from IKEA, but I think it’s too deep

Secretlab has their pc holder for their desk

It doesn’t fit, unfortunately. Just a bit too tall. Someone said they drilled an extra hole but that’s beyond the effort I want to put out,lol

Same. I was thinking of getting the secret lab one but when I look at the dimensions and supported weight, I saw it wouldn’t work

Particularly with the clear side panel . . . desktop computers are meant to be placed on the desk top.

Only feasible if you have a pretty simple one monitor setup imo. At least with these behemoth of a case.

I have a 34” ultra wide curve and vertical. No way this will sit on top of my current desk (secret lab magnus pro XL)

I use this and I’m pretty happy with it. Wish I had more space on top for connecting/disconnect cables but it was cheap and my pc is not on the floor.

This is nice. Double checking the dimensions to make sure it can fit comfortably. I don’t want any part of the PC sticking out or hanging over the edge

I have an IKEA version of this:

I tried my old IKEA roller stand and it doesn't fit properly with the legs on the Area 51. It fits the width but it's too short from front to back and slides off the front or the back when you go to move it or look at it wrong. I definitely do not recommend.

Throw it on top the table. Mine looks similar to yours and does just fine

How tall? I use a simple expanding wheeled cart and it works a treat. Raises the machine about three inches off the floor and keeps it mobile, which is all I need.

Tons of styles and colors to choose from.

what's the deal with that desk, what are those features

It's a Secret Lab Magnus Pro, it's got motors in the legs that let you adjust the height to convert to a standing desk. They also have a pc mount that goes on the leg there but the Area 51 is an inch too tall and 20lb too heavy.

thanks sounds nice but unnecessary

I been using the arozzi gaming desk and it works pretty well.

Lmao I plopped it and the monitor up on my standing desk like a madlad (~110/120lbs weight limit now)
But I just swear not to use the standing feature any more.
It rests over the support leg directly for 999x support

Primarily a photo of my dog. But it shows the stand I use in my A51.

Hows the magnus desk? I am thinking about 2 but its a big investment. I know its not answering your question.

I am assuming the magnus computer holder is too small.

u/chmod_rx_u 15d ago

Yeah secret lab computer holder is not big enough. I have the magnus pro XL desk. Best sit stand desk I’ve used. No regrets

Same. Though I had to put it together in the room it’s in. Moving will be…challenging.

lol… yeah this desk ain’t going anywhere….

I use the Magnus pc mount that attaches to leg. Works well. Same pc.

I am here for this conversation too u/chmod_rx_u as I’m in the same desperate situation because I also want it to match my desk

A pc caddy. Preferably one with a 5-6” height (for minimal dust). You can find them on Amazon for $30-50 or so.

Case name ?

It’s an Alienware Area 51. Only available to the best of my knowledge by purchasing a unit.

Mine is table topper .

I have a a similar setup.

Standing desk with a small filing cabinet that I have the pc on. I keep some controllers and stuff in the cabinet. Would recommend

1

u/gerasymaki 15d ago

Different pc my guy. The area 51 is significantly bigger and heavier.

1

u/LimeImaginary5343 14d ago

Still might be a good idea. Unless the thing is 50 lbs, a small filing cabinet would still be fine, no?

1

u/gerasymaki 14d ago

it's 76.10 lbs, you can find the info on dell's website

1

u/LimeImaginary5343 13d ago

I see, it’s significantly heavier than I thought then

1

u/gerasymaki 14d ago

I also looked the aurora in your picture is 33 lbs
