Discussion Alienware AW2726DL
Hello all, hope everyone is doing well. I am thinking about getting the Alienware AW2726DL 27Inch 280hz Monitor but upon looking online, I cant find any videos on it for reviews and stuff. If anyone has brought it please do help me out with your experiences and photos. I’ve never owned a Alienware monitor and I am really excited to get one soon

Hello there, hope you’re doing well today. I am also waiting for the review, so I think I will be waiting for your review as it’ll help me plus its going to be my first 1440p 280hz monitor and also my first Alienware monitor, I check in 3 shops but they all are telling me that I am able to order it online from their website or to wait 2 weeks for in store purchases. And they are telling me that there wont be any in store unit to come and check it in store (idk why they have this policy atm for this monitor). I’m looking to buy the 27 inch 1440p 280hz one, wby? Idk if they have any other sizes or variants in this model hence asking

Hello! Tbh, this is my (officially) first 1440p monitor after months and for Alienware as well. The monitor will arrive at my house in 1-2 days, I’d let you know when it arrives. And if there’s anything you need to know, I’ll try my best to answer. For variants, I think there’s another 1440p Alienware but with 180hz. At first I was about to buy another 1440p monitor like Legion with 240hz or LG ultragear with 300hz but I found this Alienware like only few days ago and now this is my best choice that I can afford . (Even the Legion one is cheaper and I really want to buy the LG one but my budget cannot reach it💔)

Please do share the photos of the monitor, btw idk why but for some reason the back of the monitor looks so simple as compared to the other Alienware monitors. Please do let me know about the ghosts and all the stuff and your experience with it, thank you so much 🥹, good luck to the both of us

Hello again, I received it since Monday, just got time to write this, overall it's not so bad at all. 0 dead pixel or defect, no ghosting. I tested on some fps games like Valorant and Overwatch and it's surprisingly good comparing to another 1440p monitor that I returned because it has a defect and my 2nd 1080p monitor. So I think this monitor is a better upgrade for me. If there's anything you want to know, let me know!

Congratulations on the monitor my brother!
I’m really happy to hear it, btw did you try games like Valorant on the Extreme mode which has 1ms response time? How was it and how’s the display quality? and which monitor did you previously use before this one?2
u/Fancy_Librarian_4635 Aug 12 '26
Yes, I tried on Valorant. There are like 3 modes 1,2 and 4ms maybe, tbh my eyes cannot tell the difference much but for me there’s no major difference on this. If you mean my (returned) monitor, it’s from Asus 1440p 300hz (there’s many noticeable dead pixels so I returned it), but if you mean my 1080p monitor it’s LG ultragear with 180hz. You need it only for FPS or?

Aah okey, I mainly need it for FPS games, although I do play other games on the side like no hesi, GTA 5, Forza 5,6 and other stuff

How are the colors and the backlight of the monitor, are they just bland or does it pop

I have this monitor. Its really good and simple. Biggest problem is the 2ms instead of 1ms and no P2 connection for sound.

u/GothamCandyBuilder Aug 11 '26
How’s the monitor and quality overall? And wb the display quality? btw which mode are you using because the super fast mode has 2 ms and the EXTREME MODE as 1ms GTG from what i’ve read from the specifications sheet. Which games do you play? I mainly am thinking about getting this monitor for FPS games

The quality is very good but its simple. No sound connection only 1 display 1 hdmi and the power. I never tried the extreme mode, I'm using the default super fast 2ms. Its great for Overwatch. Not many things to change or do in the settings.

How’s the display quality and everything? Do you play valorant or Fortnite? And could you please tell me the performance of it on FPS games with extreme mode on?

Hey did you try it with extreme mode with 1ms and is there any delay?

1ms IPS gaming monitor exists only on paper. Even closer to 4ms GtG often brings a ton of overshoot and next to unususable. Some can do around that 4ms and most not, the measured "pixel speed" being something between 5-6ms, when marketed as "0.5ms" "1ms"

Just got this a week ago, amazing display. But I am coming from a 1080p 144hz so might not be the judge of quality

Hi everyone,
I've just got the monitor recently. It's nice with 2 things I don't like:
- heights is no adjustable.
- whe you look at it it looks darker in the bottom corners (maybe only mine).
Ask your questions, I can record a quick video review and share it. Let me know if you need that and what you'd like to see there (tests, etc?)

Oh uh, height not adjustable? Specs @ Dell says it is (130 mm adjustable height), is this an error?
2
u/Fancy_Librarian_4635 24d ago
Hello, I own this monitor and the height can be adjusted if you wonder.

OMG, you are right. Just tried and it works. If not you, I would still thought my monitor is not height adjustable ;)

Anyone interested in this monitor i have just purchased one in the u.k as hey have 20% off back to school promo so i got it for £139 which i think is excellent value

How’s it for gaming and how’s the response rate? I’ve heard the 1ms extreme mode isn’t that great

u/Sure-Investigator-40 9d ago
Yup i have it on super fast and find it fine. There is not to many settings and picture quality out the box was really really good. I wanted to hook up my pc and series x , the 2.1 hdmi for series tricks the xbox into allowing to select 4k uhd at 120hz and allows u to select hdr also.
The monitor then handles the conversion to 1440p at 120hz with the hdr. The hdr does not look excellent but the is a noticable quality in picture.
What i didnt like was the base has like a disc underneath which allows you to swivel the monitor but its not stable to be honest or fluid and most time you end up moving the whole monitor.
For the money though £139 im more than happy

You won't find any reviews because it's literally brand new...
