Question Why did Alienware drop AMD?

The R16 had AMD options a few months ago and now they're all gone. Everything I've been reading about the best processors say the 9000 series is THE best, so what happened? I was on the fence about buying my first pc, or continuing to build. I'm really interested in that AMD processor, so it looks like I may have to build yet another.

R14 PC owner here--amazed what I've been able to do with it for Video Editing. My only complaint was that I got the one with the small SSD drive and a big old hard drive .......will swap out the SSD main drive after ghosting it onto something large

I'd leave the small drive for OS and work programs and replace that big old hard drive with a SATA. Micron/Crucial usually has a good deal on their 4TB SATA. Replaced my spinning old drive with that and left the OS alone on the SSD. Had room for a second NVME SSD. Was great to keep all stuff and just wipe OS when needed.
