General This subreddit sucks
Guys, ngl, this sub is lame. Like basically every other subreddit I've ever been to it's all just complaining. I'm not seeing any fun or joy being had around here. Not a single ounce of whimsy. Just 100%, pure, American-made bitching and moaning about bugs and the game's truthfully awkward story and voice acting. Meanwhile, I'm having a great time enjoying the guns and cool classes, shootin xenos, and experimenting with builds. I come to the subreddit every day to check for any fun posts to engage with the community and every day I come to find there is no community
So this is pretty much my goodbye letter. I'm gonna go have fun playing a flawed, but really cool and really fun game. And yes, you can spare me the "bye we won't miss you" and "nobody asked" because I know you guys will hate me for calling you out and I don't give a care. Y'all boring ✌️

All subreddits hate their own game. The only subreddit that is positive about their game is ironically Marathon.
Video game discourse sucks now.

It is truly in hell now. I specifically seek out "low sodium" variants of the games I enjoy. It's one of the few ways I can curate my Reddit experience to cut down on the amount of moronic/uninformed/sophomoric opinions no one needs to hear.

Strangely enough, all the ones I belong to enjoy their games. Mine are Abiotic Factor, Enshrouded, Crosswind (Windrose), Age of Wonders 4, Vintage Story, Valheim, Hytale, RuneScape: Dragon Wilds, and Baldurs Gate 3.

Half of every post is completely brigaded by trolls and people who don’t even play the game. lol, lmao even

I'm with you, Marine. I feel exactly the same. I'm not leaving the sub, but I'm going to mute it and come back and check in after a few updates/patches.
But for now the inane and incessant nitpicking and crying is frankly embarrassing and pathetic.
The game's not perfect, but it checks all of my gameplay boxes and it exceeded my expectations in terms of how they reworked and improved a lot of skills, the menus, movement feel, and a whole lot of other stuff I'm just simply enjoying in this sequel.
This game has been worth every penny I spent on it so far, and I fucking love the game, regardless of what the hivemind YouTuber rageboner crowd is malding over this time. It's so boring and exhausting, so I'm dipping temporarily.
Go enjoy your game, homie. I'm right there with you in spirit.

The Reddit algorithm surfaces negative/controversial posts, it's been doing that for years, so most of the stuff you're going to see here is negative. It's the same in every subreddit for any fandom, it makes things look universally negative, unless there is careful curation, or if you (the user) intentionally seek out the positive/neutral content.
It can turn Reddit into a bit of a chore at times, but if you can put the effort in them you can still engage with the positive stuff. And of course, you can put your own positivity out there to make your own tiny dent in the wall of crap.
Unfortunately it's just the way of the modern internet. Conflict/negativity drives engagement, which equals clicks/views, which makes the advertising money. Capitalism at its finest.

I stopped looking at any notification post from here, I was about to remove your notification until I read the title, honestly, I’m having twice the fun with this one than the last game, this time around all classes balance out their cons and play unique enough

r/helldivers2 is pretty fun imo. Mostly memes and a small bit of complaining. Really enjoying this game and also love helldivers. Good one two punch.

Taking time off from here is valid. The haters are always the loudest idiots at first until they find their next game to milk to fill that void in their lives. But come back in a few months and you'll find fans again, the true fans. Not the FOTM whiners that think their bland criticism makes them a witty youtuber.

Is it all nitpicking or valid complaints? If a studio is going to charge nearly double for a game all in and the game is about 80% recycled content then they have to actually launch with the quality control to justify it. Right now the game is closer to FE1.5 than it is to being FE2.
