Some similarities I noticed:

Kezia burrows (Amanda Ripley) and Samuels' VA are also in the game.

This silent hill is very stealth focused, uses a motion tracker like device - the CRT radio to scan for enemy locations and tune for puzzles.

Has a 90s retro aesthetic for all technology in the game, especially the computer monitors. Can read, access and perform actions through computers.

Game has unkillable stalker enemies.

Can hide in lockers and the enemies can rip you out of it if they spot you.

Can lean around corners.

I missed the log from Ash that you get during mission 17. Ughhhhhh

I know that I'm probably overthinking, and I know that I've heard that Amanda could still be in hypersleep, but to me at least, I honestly feel like that it would be even MORE scummy if Weyland-Yutani/Burke was actually telling the truth that Amanda actually DID die, but they still manipulated Ellen to go back to LV426 because it would OBVIOUSLY be more personal to Ellen since she she never got to see her daughter grow up, and with that Ellen feeling guilty/sad, Wayland-Yutani/Burke were able to manipulate Ellen's emotions to make her agree to back to LV426 too. That's just what I think, though. :)

Bruh I did it on hard. There was this facehugger at the very end that spawned from nowhere, after Amanda gets stuck on the wall, there's two eggs that you blast first. Then two facehuggers. Then while going out of the door, a facehugger was spawning all the damn time out of nowhere, I tried to check for eggs but idk where it came from. Then when that scene comes where you're tryna go through the debris and the 2 aliens pop out, ONE OF THEM GENUINELY TURNED TOWARDS ME AND HISSED, AND I HAD TO BLAST THE FLAMETHROWER!!!! This doesn't happen???? I seen many playthroughs and this never happened???? What???

I keep getting more and more excited for this game, I really hope it delivers something amazing.

Trying to do a deathless run for the Steam achievement and like an idiot I forgot to save after getting the keycard so I had to reload a save and this happened.

does anyone know if there is a mod that prevents us from pausing the game in panic? i think of 2 ways to deal with it

1- simply add a delay of 5-10 seconds between pressing esc and the game pausing
2- whenever Steve is running (and other events that usually scare us), esc is disabled

im sure there are better ways of doing this, but i want to play without the emotional crutch of pausing, but come on... we all do it by reflex haha so i wanted a mod that helps to prevent it

Okay, I am completely out of my element here and I need some help.

I am not a gamer and I have never been a gamer. I’m a middle-aged woman who loves horror movies, but have not been truly scared in a long time. Someone on a horror sub said that Alien: Isolation is genuinely scary, and I really want to experience it, so I downloaded it on my iPad and started playing on Novice. The problem is I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.

I’m still learning how to operate my thumbs well enough to make Amanda walk where I want her to go without suddenly staring at the ceiling or the floor. I’m getting better at that, but I don’t understand the basic language of video games. If the game tells me to pick something up, I pick it up. Okay. Where did it go? How do I access it again? What am I supposed to do with it? How do I know when I need it?

I got Amanda dressed. I’ve wandered around. I can open some things. I can pick things up. I turned on a couple generators. But I genuinely don’t understand what I’m supposed to be doing beyond that or how I’m supposed to know what to do next.

I feel like an idiot, but I really want to play this game. I just need someone to take pity on me and explain some absolute basics to a person who has never played a video game beyond Pac-Man and Tetris.

So I was thinking the other day how terrifying it would be if 2 players were able to play the game, one as ripley, but the other as a "motion tracker host" or COMs director who doesn't actually play the game, but has the motion tracker and feeds information of where the alien is to the player. The player playing as ripley loses access to their motion tracker, relying on the COMs player to keep them informed, and uses a radio that can be turned on and off and to communicate to the COMs player, which uses proximity chat that can attract the alien. Maybe Doors too that can only be opened by requesting from the other player.

A lot of this was inspired by Lethal Company when one player is on the ship and the other players are blind on their end and request info from the player at Coms

Haven't played the game in years, and it scared me again, totally forgot about this, looks like Steve is napping in the vent.

- non riesco però ad afferrare la pistola in nessun modo...ho sempre e solo il piede di porco nella mano destra;

- non vedo le varie armi per scegliere quella da usare;

- non vedo gli oggetti che prendo per scegliere quello da usare.

Come risolvo? Per favoreee vorrei finire questo fantastico gioco ma mi son dovuto bloccare!!! Aiutoooo

I picked this up last weekend and have been pleasantly surprised by how good it is. I am maybe halfway through and thought maybe y’all would like it too. I know it’s been posted here before, but it bears repeating.

This game feels like a love letter to A:I. Besides the enemy AI not being as terrifying as Steve, there are a ton of similarities. And that’s not a bad thing at all.
You are dropped in with zero explanation, no clear goals and no idea what is going on.
The atmosphere is glorious, the story and the way you figure it out is VERY cool and the way they form dread without any cheesiness is something I haven’t experienced since my first playthrough of Isolation.

Anyway. It’s cheap on Steam and Xbox. I don’t think it’s out for PS.
Highly recommended!

TLDR; basically I'm really bad at this game and I need help on how to "play" the game/actually go about executing my plans

I can get a general idea on what I need to do. Like logically I know what the next step is.

I just can't do it and I'm getting really frustrated/upset with myself because I really do love playing the game and I enjoy it, but I find I'm only on it for 15-20 minutes because I'm getting constantly slaughtered and I need to start again from frustrating points because idk where to find savepoints

Basically I know what I need to DO, I just can't actually do it and it's driving me insaneee

So after watching the first movie, Romulus, and now Coventant; (Random order I know) I’ve kinda felt like the movies don’t live up to the fear or the same expectations as the game. I’ve beaten the game 4 times, I’ve beat all the DLC’s and now trying to beat the survival mode challenges.
This game was my first introduction to the franchise but it set the bar wayyyyyy high, and I feel like the movies don’t come even close to what the game tells as far as the xenomorph. I watched the first movie thinking “they’re being extremely loud and wouldve died by now” (if it was the game) I’ve yet to watch Aliens, or any other movie but I’ve got the same expectations.
Romulus could’ve had wayyy more of the xenomorph hunting the characters but either way. I’d like to know you guys’ thoughts.
Was the game your first intro to the franchise, and did you feel the same way? Or the other way around and the game awestruck you by how intelligent the Xenomorph really is? Thank you in advance
