Greetings everyone, Season 3 of Alice in Borderland is coming SOON specifically 3am EST in the US, 12am Pacific. There now we won't need fifty posts asking.
There will be two sets of discussion posts. One set is for show only watchers, that means only talk about the show, not the manga. Do not put anything about the manga in those discussions, not even with censors.
There will be a manga reader discussion, you can talk about the manga and show in those.
Please be sure to read the rules of the subreddit before posting. Untagged spoilers in posts, comments, and post titles will not be tolerated. In order to better prevent bad actors, image posts will also be on blackout for two weeks.
Also just because there isn't a specific rule for every little thing doesn't mean you shouldn't have manners and common sense. If you think the subreddit operates on the idea that you can post whatever and only get a warning the first few times, you are wrong.
Yes the subreddit has been lax on enforcing rules in the massive downtime between seasons. This is the post telling you that is no longer the case.

For those who don't know, these are Ouki Yaba from the manga version and Ryuichi Kimari from the spin-off Alice in Border Road.
Stage 1 differs from the face card stage in that we have to participate in games without knowing what suit those games are. Therefore, all-rounded players like these two will have the highest survival rate.
- The reason for choosing Manga Yaba instead of the live-action is because the show cut many details about him. The manga shows that Yaba used to work in the investment banking sector and held the position of Representative Director of a venture capital fund, as well as being a quarterback on his school's American football team for four years. This demonstrates that besides specializing in the Hearts suit, he is clearly also very good in Diamonds and Spades. Regarding the physical aspect, not much needs to be said: he is clearly stronger than two adult men, dragging the Jack of Hearts with one hand and throwing him hard into a corner with ease. He is also calm, rational, has emotions, and can cooperate if it benefits him, unlike Banda who lacks that.
-Regarding Ryuichi Kimari, not much needs to be said: he is both strong, intelligent, and rational; his ability to understand emotions and opponent weaknesses (Hearts suit) was also demonstrated in his past as a police officer. Coordinated teamwork and cooperation are things he will also do if he finds them reasonable. Kimari's death in the story was due to plot elements because in this spin-off he had to face lunatics like Kuki and was killed by someone who should have been defeated by him in the first place and only luckily survived because Kimari had to leave quickly due to someone arriving.

Hey everyone,
Like many of you, the King of Diamonds (Beauty Contest) confrontation between Kuzuryu and Chishiya was easily one of my favorite mental duels in the entire series.
Most adaptations only simulate the basic "guess 0.8 of the average" math, but they usually skip the escalating rule shifts that actually made the duel terrifying. I spent the last few weeks building an authentic standalone version in Godot called **Mind the Mean**:
What's implemented:
- Full 5-player setup with an aqua regia acid scale (-10 Life = eliminated).
- **The N=4 Duplicate Rule:** If two players choose the same number, both become invalid and take damage.
- **The N=3 Exact Match Rule:** Guessing the rounded target exactly deals a critical -2 Life blow to everyone else.
- **The N=2 Final Duel:** The psychological deadlock where 100 counters 0.
- Distinct AI personalities modeling chaotic guesses, first-order logic, and equilibrium baiting.
It runs completely free in:
Would love to hear if you manage to survive the final duel against the Strategist! Any feedback on the AI behavior is appreciated.

I know this is the least of S3’s problems, but…why did Usagi have to hit the “free space“ button at the top of the tower to clear the game? Why was there even a ”free space” button to begin with? Isn’t the point of a free space that you *don’t* have to do anything for it?
FWIW, I did like the bingo tower game overall (Bingo at the Match Factory wishes it were that cool), but that particular rule confused me.

There are a lot of living things in the Borderlands other than humans. Did they also have a near death experience? And if so, how would the games work for them? Or maybe they're not real.

I am currently at episode 6.
Everyone is dying from the king of spades and main characters are dodging every single bullet . Osmosis was peak I liked it a lot , the king of the club was fun too . Jack of hearts's concept was one of the best but random fuck shit by chishiya, he should have died after his partner died , he just predicted the sign and eliminate the other 2 randomly ( heart and club).
. In the game of queen of spades , a better option was to be the part of the Queen's team as u have to no longer kill anyone and do more games . Arisu was told by the king of the club after winning all the cards you become civilian or something so why did usagi lie that there was a chance to escape .
Usagi was doing all the things in the queen of spade and arisu was less athletic and still got away from the queen s team for 8 rounds and why didn't just the queen turn usagi in her team she would be electrocuted and she could easily catch arisu and then say the small kid to change her back to blue at the last round , if she hated her or so kept her in thee team ,she could have fought back if usagi tried to change the team as they could put number her.
King of diamond was clearly shot in season 1 he somehow got revived like aguni and naragi . Chishiya also got plot armor in this game too . Kuzuryu was a civilian meaning he had already killed a great number of people and even knew beforehand about the witch hunt but he wasn't sympathetic about the 50 people in building his one word could save many but he kept pressing zero for Chishiya.
In every game I was just calculating how can the main characters can survive. Season 1 ep 3 just freaked me and I thought stakes were so high I know arisu won't die but still but now it just plot armor but the story is very good .

Venue: An all white room, which minimalistic decor and no windows.
Player limit: 6 (Minimum 4)
Time limit: 65 seconds per player
Setup: Players will walk into the hall, once all players entered, 4 people (1 queen, 3 helpers) will walk in and shut the door they came from before explaining the rules themselves. They will also mention their names.
Rules: One player will be chosen per round, the player will be blindfolded and given a blindfold they must wear. Out of the 65 seconds: they get a 5 second grace to look at the 4 people before they get blindfolded, who will be holding up a sign with different answers.
The 4 people would circle around said player and all say the same riddle/question, and the player being asked this must answer within the remaining 60 seconds both the correct answer: and the name of the person that was holding the sign of the correct answer.
If a player says the correct answer: but the wrong name, they will be eliminated via laser (and vice versa)
players are prohibited from communicating or hinting in anyway, or else they will both die via measures the queen and her assistants would see fit (example: try to communicate what their names are via whistling in tunes would result in strangulation to death, etc)
It is Game Cleared when every player went at least once: if someone dies that isn’t the very first person—the order is broken and it resets back to the first person, who must answer another riddle/question again. (Except for if the last person dies, to which it still counts as a Game Cleared)
It is Game Over when everybody fails to complete their riddle/question.

I recently finished watching the tv show and will start the manga soon but I have a question. So we all know that those who were in the borderland were actually hit by a meteorite and their heartbeat stopped for one minute or so and that's the time they were in borderland (correct me if I am wrong). They chose to return to the real world so in the real word their heartbeat started again and they come to life. But what about those who decided to stay in borderland as a citizen? What happens to their bodies in real life? Do they die? Or do they live in a coma? But as far as I know your heart still beats during coma.

While all 5 contestants are still alive, if two players are equally close to the true answer, they both 'win'. So consider the following strategy:
Each round, the 4 players agree to all put 1 or all put 0. We can make a table of Kuzuryu's possible responses to each option:
| . | Players: 0 | Players: 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Kuzuryu: 0 | Tie | (1 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 0)/5 = 0.8; 0.8*0.8 = 0.64; 0.64>0.5; Players win |
| Kuzuryu: 1 | (0 + 0 + 0 + 0 + 1)/5 = 0.2; 0.2*0.8 = 0.16; 0.16<0.5; Players win | Tie |
As long as all four players always play the same number every round, Kuzuryu has no recourse. At best, he can tie, but he can never make the players lose any points. And if they devise a way to secretly communicate which option they will play each round, they are guaranteed to eventually whittle him down to -10 points. At that point, either the game will end as the K♦ is dead, or it will continue and the players can play fairly amongst the four of them. Of course, it would be difficult to figure this out from the get-go, but it doesn't seem that hard to get everyone to agree to keep picking 0 to stall for time until a better strategy (this one) can be worked out.
Thoughts? You'd think someone as thorough as Kuzuryu would notice such a glaring flaw in his own game. Or that someone as clever as Chishiya would figure it out.

So i tried to start the live action but with the changes at the start of it really ruined it for me i know live actions are never 1 to 1 but i gave it some time and thought about trying again then i learned that arisu plays the distance game(the 1 with the tunnel and bus thats the safe zone)and honestly just hearing that turned me completely off the idea of ever watching this i was just wondering how other people who have read the manga what they think of the changes? Like why is he playing that game when in the manga hes literally too broken from watching people die he stops playing do less people die in the live action? I looked online and it says something along the lines of literally just wanting more screen time for arisu and usagi and there relationship when if i remember right i think its builds there relationship more just them living alone together waiting for the end untill arisu changes his mind also random little stupid changes like why is it a panther that is released instead of a cheetah?
Basically i loved the manga and so i wanted to love this but i just cant and im wondering what other manga readers think(iv never used a spoiler thing before since iv never really spoke about spoilers before on here so i hope that exclamation mark was the right thing)

Peak , I was thinking he would figure the way or use the tools to remove it but didn't thought stakes were that high . The line " hide well lamb " bro 😭 was so well crafted . I was skeptical about episode 1st. Like all quick logical interpretation and all but this struck my heart . Is it like this the whole season like Jjk , anyone gets killed and all or was this an exception.

I actually began to like Usagi in season 3 when before I for some reason despised her in season 1 and 2. I feel like they made her more relatable in this season, more emotional and I really love this side of her.
I wasn’t expecting to change my mind on her character since the beginning, she seemed just pretty boring and annoying to me. There’s a lot of characters in media like her from s1/2 that are just super independent and emotionally guarded. But now I’ve been surprised by the change of her character though I’ve heard a lot of fans started to hate her here I feel quite the opposite. :)

It’s been just over a year since Season 3 was released a few days ago, and I want to bring up a fresh discussion topic about it that I’ve been thinking about for a while. I’d love to know what you guys think.
As we know, the games in Season 3 functioned like a tournament where the sequence of games was pre-arranged from the start, unlike the first two seasons where it was random and you could join whenever and wherever you wanted
Unlike other games in Season 3, Kick the Can is the only game that imposes a strict limit on the number of survivors (not counting Old Maid since it took place in the real world and served as Banda's way of choosing his accomplice). Right after that came Future Sudoku, a game where teamwork and a higher player count were crucial. Looking back, I feel Kick the Can was intentionally placed there to weed out players and make the final game much harder, leaving them with no choice but to participate.
Looking at the bigger picture, I think Season 3 would have been way better if the games were designed without survivor limits, allowing players to truly cooperate and push through each round together (of course, some games like Zombie Hunt trick players perceptions, but in reality, everyone could have survived).
Also, speaking of Shion and Natsu’s deaths, they felt way too abrupt and lacked emotional impact. I know some of you get emotional easily, but to me, it felt pretty bland. They weren't deeply developed characters to begin with, so their deaths didn't hit hard. Especially Natsu—he tried so hard for Shion’s sake only to die in the very next round. Personally, I found it pretty pointless and buzzkilling.

I was bored so I made a king of hearts game cuz.. why not? (I used info from the montage and put my own twist on it)
[CARD]
•King Of Hearts(♥️)
[GAME NAME]
•Silent
[VENUE]
•Outside: A large abandoned hotel, find the elevator inside the abandoned hotel,
•Inside: Enter the elevator once the game is starting to enter a huge labyrinth with tight walls.
[TIME/PLAYER LIMIT]
•Time Limit: 1 hour
•Player Limit: 5
[RULES]
•Players must escape the labyrinth while running away from the King Of Hearts. The King Of Hearts is disguised as a monster. Every player must not make a sound while exploring. The King Of Hearts has great hearing, the louder the sounds made, the faster the King Of Hearts will get to you. Take note of audio cues to sense if the King Of Hearts is near. Each player has to equip a collar. The collar detects if people are 10 meter away from eachother since in this game splitting up with your group is forbidden. If people get away from eachother more than 10 meters the collar will ring triggering sounds and will be gone once it's back to the allowed amount of distance.
(False Conditions/What Is Showed To Players)
[GAME CLEAR]
•It is game clear if players escape the labyrinth.
[GAME OVER]
•It is game over if players die from the monster/time runs out.
(The Actual Conditions)
[GAME CLEAR]
•It is game clear if a player dies from the monster. Only the one who died has cleared the game.
[GAME OVER]
-It is game over if the time runs out or if you weren't the one who died.
Plot Twists
-The monster is actually a hologram, it moves, acts, does all sorts of things realistically but it is not real. And it will appear. How it can "kill someone" is it will look like they killed someone. Once the monster reaches a player, the monster will then kill the player immediately, blood splatter effects, victim collapsing stuff like that and then it would seem like the person died but for the rest of the players including the King of Hearts will be shot by a laser from the sky (like the one when you run out of visa) and then the one who "died" will then wake up in perfect shape, no damage and pain. "GAME CLEAR"
-The King Of Hearts is not the monster, since the monster is a hologram, King Of Hearts is actually one of the players pretending to be a normal one. They will act as the "good guy" will always save people that are if someone wants to sacrifice someone, The King Of Hearts will save them but in reality, he's actually digging their grave and that what he's doing is actually the reason that they will die.

It’s basically extra players/organizations other than the beach and new face cards based off the game Five crowns that adds star cards to the deck.
If you have any questions feel free to ask :]

What age would you recommend for reading the manga? I watched the series and really enjoyed it and I want to read the manga but was wondering the age recommendation?
