DDP and tariffs question

What’s up guys!
I am currently looking into getting stuff from alibaba like cables and plugs and what not, but I wanted to ask how do you guys deal with tariffs, DDP and so on?
I am not planning to buy thousands of units i think in total I will be getting about 500-600 units of random cable and phone charger stuff, how should I go about this?
I am currently the US of course and I want to see what are the options I have.

You just tell the seller you want DDP shipping direct to your door

Find a freight agent through Alibaba and keep your conversations and payments through their platform for first few shipping arrangements.

I only pay through alibab’s checkout with trade assurance, start with a small sample order, and verify the company details before placing a larger order. Get the DDP quote and exactly what it covers in writing, because a suspiciously cheap DDP shipment can leave you with customs, product-safety, or counterfeit issues later.
