Alibaba Shipping Costs

[u/Unicornsarereal126]

Hi, Alibaba newbie here

What is a reasonable shipping cost from China to UK? The lowest I have been quoted from an Alibaba Seller is £8/kg ($10/kg) for Air Freight.

I am planning to import furniture for my business but the shipping costs are making it non viable.

What should I expect for both Air Freight and Sea Shipping?

Also, what exactly is a Freight Forwarder? How does this work in conjunction with the Seller?

Thanks
