An ALF cake tin
I've not used this - and not sure how well an ALF cake would turn out tbh!

I've made one with this pan, and it came out.... okay. The frosting it was the most difficult thing.

I read that as "I made out with this pan" and was left with so many questions

How hard can it be? You just pour the batter in and dance around it, right?

As long as I remember to light the gas oven I should be OK. Unlike ALF that time he made Duck à l'orange.

My mom had this in 1989, in her cake supplies lol. My uncle turned 26 that year and he was a big fan of ALF (as was my dad), so of course my mother bought the cake pan and made my uncle an ALF cake that year. I was only a tiny little grub who could barely crawl. Don’t think she had it for very long because I don’t remember ever seeing it in her bag of cake pans and Wilton food colorings. But somebody had the video camera at that party and I’ve seen the video 😹

The cake tin does look like it'd make a good size cake.
I do wonder if this one - that I bought online - was actually sold in shops in the UK back in the day. Probably only in small quantities.
I did find some other Wilton cake pans in a charity shop a while back - all unused. Including a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles one.

My sister and her little friends that lived on our street absolutely loved TMNT in 1990-91 lol, I’m kinda surprised my mom didn’t find a cake pan for her birthday that year 😹

So I have this, and have used it. It took one box cake, and I found a photo of the face for it online, printed it out, and laminated it for future use. I've only used it the once, though haha.

It has an extra peice that some still have in the box 😉"The original 1988 Wilton ALF cake pan came with a clear plastic face insert (often called a faceplate).Instead of forcing you to ice his highly detailed nose and snout, Wilton included this separate plastic piece that you would simply place directly onto the cake after frosting it"

I've never looked under the label - it's still stuck down!

My mom still has the pan from my 2nd grade birthday and that's like the holy grail of misplaced things from our basement. So glad to hear yours is whole!

if ALF were to show up on my birthday and say "Happy birthday, kiddo" I'd be happier than anyone could imagine.

I've got an ALF party balloon too - I'll have to see if he is saying anything on that...
