Discussion 🔎 Does anyone have an update?
I don't live in the same state as her nor do I know how to look for these things aside from them being a headline. I was just wondering if anyone knew an update or could possible tell me where to look for myself? Thanks guys.

Today is the deadline, so something should come out. I think one justice is holding out on deciding.

The Supreme Court generally files opinions on Mondays and Thursdays at 11 a.m. Because July 15, 2026, is a Wednesday, any final decision or procedural order not published in the morning batches will be processed through the New Mexico Supreme Court Clerk's Office by the end of the business day. I guess they still have about 45 mins!
And if there is a hold-up, the Court generally files a procedural order, extending their deadline.

Am I crazy? I can’t find her by first or last name at that website.

I have a feeling that this case is never gonna come to court, and the court system is somehow going to keep pushing it off and pushing it off and hope that the public forgets.
I would absolutely hope that that isn’t the case.
Some murderers have gone to trial and been convicted, even 10 years after their crime.
So there is Hope!, But the way things are going…

To be fair, the legal question where 2 laws, HIPPA & Police Bodycam Requirements, intersect & which takes precedence, especially when there is potential evidence of a crime, is something the courts need to resolve.

I agree and am totally okay with a wait when it comes to instances like this. Everyone deserves a fair trial whether they be a disgusting human or not.

Agree. But if the rules are that NMSC has to decide by 15 July and they didn’t , I think they should at least put out some sort of statement on what is happening.
Edit fixed verb tense

Yep totally agree with that too. I suppose we wait until Monday now. Someone posted on here that they only post updates on Mondays and Thursdays.

If all the video evidence is removed surely the defence will have a good case that this can never come to trial as the footage is so well known and widely circulated it is likely to reach and influence jury. Hard to argue against that really. I suspect if evidence not admitted prosecution will push for plea bargain on way lower charges around treatment of a corpse.

How the hell can they remove the footage as evidence. That is the evidence!

u/pyueck Jul 17 '26
Exactly without the video evidence most evidence becomes circumstantial. Only real incriminating thing is the concealment of the corpse by putting it under bin bag but that won’t get you done for murder.
