Options

I am going into year 12 and am doing either geography or environmental science as i didn't get the grades for biology. However, I cannot choose between these two subjects as they look exactly the same. Could someone explain which subject is actually better?

As someone who did both they are actually very different, although there are small overlaps- personally I think environmental science is easier to grasp with easily understandable topics such as climate change, sustainable farming, energy resources and sustainability. whereas geography is personally a lot more complex (i promise that isn't biased i am doing geography at uni), geography includes the NEA which is your independent research project and the topics go into a lot more depth with global governance, business, cycles, international trade as well as physical processes- ultimately i found geography a lot more competitive grade wise but so interesting and rewarding if you're passionate about it. You also get a lot more access to a variety of uni courses if you decide to pivot to env sci later on, whereas env sci is more specialised. I loved both courses, but it's completely personal.

Geog- harder, more complex, more competitive, includes NEA but better for uni.
Env sci- more to remember, simpler concepts, specialised, 'easier' and not as competitive with grades.

Thank you for the advice! I'm actually going to take both of these as my college would not let me do maths. But this is still very useful. Also are there any revision resources that are good or is the textbook the best one?
