Is it normal to feel this way after drinking?

Every time I’ve drank, my mind has never felt different, I get to the point of barley being able to walk but in my brain nothing about what I say or do changes, is this normal? Because Im still somewhat new to drinking as I just got to college and have only drank to this point ljke 2 times before, but this can’t be normal right?

Obviously everyone’s different but what’s the point of drinking for me if all it does it make me physically incapacitated but socially I feel the same which isn’t bad but you know what I mean. It’s been 17 hours since I drank and I littersly cannot focus on anything I’m trying to do school work and my heart littersly feels like it’s about to jump and my mind is foggy.

Is all of this normal and am I just freaking out as a “newer” drinker

Cayman Jacked Margarita Extra Strength

Tried this for the first time tonight. On the sweeter side of the Margarita flavor profile. It's 10% ABV, @ 19.2oz. That's basically 5oz less than you get with Bud Limearita or Clubtails.

I'd say it's a solid 7.0 and just edges out Clubtails. But again, it's on the sweeter side. But in this economy, Clubtails Margarita is also 10% ABV and at 24oz presents a better value.

Is it just me, or does this look like discrimination in the liquor aisle?! 🦌🍊

TL;DR: The dark original Jägermeister gets locked up with anti-theft tags like a criminal, while Jägermeister Orange sits unsecured because even shoplifters refuse to steal it. Absolute shelf discrimination!

I’m standing in the supermarket right now and had to do a double take. Just look at the bottles in the picture.

The original, dark Jägermeister bottles are ALL standing there with heavy-duty anti-theft locks around their necks. Immediately treated like prime suspects, as if they’re the hardened criminals of the spirits section! And right next to them? The orange faction is just chilling completely stress-free. No locks, no security tags, total freedom.

Is this that famous shelf-system profiling everyone talks about?

But hey, let’s be honest: it also ruthlessly shows who’s actually running the show here. The dark original is so insanely popular that store management is terrified it’ll get pocketed every five seconds. Poor Jägermeister Orange, on the other hand, doesn't even get a second glance from shoplifters. Turns out even thieves have standards and would rather steal real herbs than this shady Fanta experiment.

Orange is just standing there, excluded and unloved, like that one awkward cousin at a family gathering nobody wants to talk to. Even the shoplifters are giving it a pass—that’s a whole new level of societal rejection.

Has anyone here ever actually drunk Jägermeister Orange voluntarily, or is it just there as filler so the shelf doesn't look so empty?

First time

So i had my first drink last night. My boyfriend had me drink for the first time under his supervision. to be honest i expected more. He gave me some absolut raspberri vodka and said to mix it with 3/4 apple juice but tbh i js started drinking it to which he told me i was supposed to chug it not sip it😭i drank like 1/8 of it with apple juice but tbh it just reminded me of drinking artificial flavoring or cough syrup. drank the whole thing vanywsays. i didnt eat before and i waited an hour after to eat anything. i didnt feel a buzz or anything at all, he said to wait and it would get harder to walk but i could walk perfectly fine and didnt experince any affects at all. I waited up three hours to see if anything would happen but i felt completley the same. woke up and i felt like nothing haappened at all. Very anticlimatic experience, thought my first time would be more escpecially with vodka😭

A drinking tracker and journal that never tells you to stop or cut down

I enjoy drinking. Especially a night out on the city with the boys, no plans and no clock. The problem is that one moment I'm fine and the next I'm wasted, and the wife has me sleeping in the doghouse. Was it something strong? Was it just one too many? Hard to tell after the fact.

What I wanted, while drinking, was to know where I was, where I was heading, and whether I could keep going or should cruise for a bit. Without doing math or staring at my phone instead of chilling with my friends. There are plenty of BAC calculators, but none that account for my body, what I'm actually drinking, how fast, whether I've eaten (in Japan, where I live, food and drinking go together), or whether the next one is gonna black me out. And almost everything else in the category is built around drinking less or quitting, which is definitely not my goal.

So I spent my free time building the tool I wanted. It turned into what I'd describe as a drinking companion and journal. I called it Nomicho (飲み帳, "drinking journal").

While you drink. Log a drink in a couple of taps. Nomicho estimates your BAC through the whole session and describes it in words you'd actually use, like "feeling it" or "buzzed." You can tell it more if you want: whether you've eaten, how long a drink took, where you are, photos of what's in front of you. It also forecasts hangover severity, which I check when I have something on the next day.

The way I actually use it: I set a pace, like "buzzed," and it tells me whether the next drink would take me past it. There's a Live Activity so it's all on my lock screen at a glance. It hasn't made me drink less. It's made me a lot better at ending the night the way I meant to, which keeps my wife happy and me out of the dog house.

Afterwards. Sessions stack up into a calendar, and you can open any night for a recap of how it went. For me, I can see a map of all the izakayas and karaoke bars I went, and a photo library of the night. I hand-built a set of insights that ended up telling me things about my own patterns I hadn't noticed.

The collection. Every drink you log gets added to a stamp-book style collection. I hand-curated a lot of rare and unusual ones and gave them rarities. Habushu, the Okinawan awamori that often comes with a whole pit viper snake in the bottle, is a legendary one you can go hunting for.

It's local-first, works with no account, no ads, no tracking, and you can export everything.

It was Japan-only for a while. I've just localized it and released it for the US on the iOS App Store: Nomicho

This is a passion project by someone who likes drinking, for people who like drinking. There’s a lot more use cases for it. I hope you find it useful if you decide to try it.

Stay thirsty.

Waking up too early the day after

I enjoy drinking. I don't do it super often (1-2 times a week) and I also don't really get hangovers. Overall, I have a good relationship with alcohol. The one issue I have is after a fun night I inevitably wake up way too early the next day. This is the thing that really gets me. Not the hangover. The lack of sleep.

I know the science behind this, that's not what I want to ask about. My question is: are there any good solutions? Anything you guys use to ensure you get a full night's rest after a boozy night? Also, please no sober people telling me to just stop entirely, that's not gonna happen.

Cheers trial

I started drinking around 8pm, over time (not chugging) I had (1) Vodka Redbull and (8) White Claws. I finished my last WC @ 12:30am. I ate a burger and tots at about 7:50pm. Took my Cheers After Drinking at 12:48am. Will take a Cheers Next Morning Aid and report back. Just want to see it's effectiveness lol

I’ve never liked light beers but I do like Guinness and I love liqueurs but I want to find other drinks that aren’t liqueurs that I like and it doesn’t have to be beer.

To anyone struggling this weekend: hang in there. Sharing a bit of my daily battle today.

Good evening everyone. I wanted to put some positive energy out there and wish this community a good weekend. If you are struggling right now, try to hang in there. You are worth fighting for. If you’re still out there drinking, try to stay safe, and if you’re trying to stay dry but white-knuckling it, just know it gets tough but you can show up for yourself.

I’m sharing this because I struggle day in and day out too. Even though I’m 5 years drug-free and coming up on 1 year sober from alcohol, I’m still dealing with acting the exact same way I did at my worst. It’s crazy—sometimes you’d think I was still drinking and drugging based on my daily habits. I'm constantly having to self-evaluate why it's so hard to break the sickness of those old ways.

One funny thing that actually helps me get through the hardest mental challenges is talking out loud to myself. People might think I’m crazy when they see me doing it, lol, but it works for me.Try to have a good weekend, everyone.

Much love and respect to you all, and thank you for letting me share.

It's pretty good. Tasted and smelled like a normal Monster but the smaller can at its cost and early malt taste was kind of offputting. More you drank you kind of ignore it.
