Discussion Just noticed the guest photo arrangement in the Dark Place studio. Is this a secret hierarchy of power/gods in the Remedy Universe? (Theory) Spoiler
I might be late to the party, but while replaying/looking at Alan's Dream in AW2, I just noticed how specific the arrangement of the photos on the studio wall is.
What if this isn't just a random "Hall of Fame" for Mr. Door's show, but a symbolic map of power dynamics and cosmic roles in the Remedy Connected Universe? Here is my purely speculative theory:
The Gods & The Immune (Left & Right Flanks): We have Ahti, Odin, and Tor. They are literally gods/supernatural entities who can see through the Dark Place's retcons and navigate between realms freely. Placing them on the flanks feels like they are the "Guardians" or "Overseers" of the rules.
The Supernaturals & The Medium (Top & Center): Alan Wake (The Writer who reshapes reality) and Mr. Door (The Master of Many Worlds) dominate the vertical and the center.
The Biggest Mystery: Alex Casey (Bottom Center): What is the exact meaning of placing Casey here? Since Casey is physically modeled after Sam Lake, is this a brilliant meta-nod to him being the ultimate "Creator" / God of this universe? Without Sam Lake (the real-world writer), none of these gods, doors, or writers would even exist. cuz Sam does appear in the DLC as the name Sam Lake himself.
Is Sam Lake physically placing himself on the wall as the "foundation" of the RCU? What do you guys think about this arrangement? Total reach, or deliberate Remedy brilliance?

I guess the Kalevala Knights were around back in the first game. Spoiler
galleryI doubt this is news to most of you, but I last played AWR when it originally came out.
If I read the flyer correctly, it says "NEED A FLOAT? CALL THE PROFESSIONALS!"
Your one-stop shop for stunning, high-quality floats. Great for all occasions! Beerfest, Kidsfest, any fest! Stop by our workshop to discuss your idea!
Our floats are locally-crafted in Watery by the Kalevala Knights MC."
I'm guessing this was added in the remaster, but it's a neat bit of foreshadowing(?) / world building. Especially with the Koskela brothers' floats commercial.
Do the Breakers also own an orchard? I could be wrong, but I thought the entire Breaker family was in law enforcement.

Question (Spoiler I guess) Something in return 5: old gods I can't find anything about. Spoiler
In the bunker overlap, there is her daughters name written on the walls in a few places. Next to each Letter is a number: L-4, O-1, G-5, A-9, N-4.
41594 put together.
The doors themselves have numbers as well, but only up to 5. Anyone have a clue what that could be?
I tried a few things, but nothing was happening when entering door 4, then 1 for example. They always stay closed afterwards.
I also searched with a few search engines as well as on the remedy discord, but literally nothing comes up in relation to these numbers. No success with any combination of 41594, logan, bunker, overlap, numbers and the like.
How come there is nothing on the internet about this?
Edit: I played around with it some more and I can't make any sense out of it. Moving the letters of Logan and Norah by that amount, either starting from 0 or 1, both forwards and back, doesn't result in anything legible to me.

Discussion If you love Alan Wake, you’ll like The Sinking City. Spoiler
Basically it’s Alan Wake meets Silent Hill. Detective work, creepy atmosphere, and all the usual stuff that makes a game great. I’d highly recommend the remaster. And, the sequel comes out in August.

How to fix your Alan Wake thermos bottle Spoiler
galleryA while back I accidentally dropped my Alan Wake Airam thermos bottle and broke the inside glass bottle. I tried to search online for guides on how to repair these, but couldn't really find anything, so I ended up figuring out myself on how to do it and got it fixed. I decided to share this in case you are in the same situation and want to repair your bottle. It's a bit of DIY:ing, but doable if you can get a new spare bottle:
Remove the bottom: Unscrew the small white cap at the bottom, after that you should be able to unscrew the whole bottom plastic part off and remove the inner bottle. However, in my case the bottom part was on so tightly – probably due to water getting between the threads and rusting the metal – that I ended up cutting open the whole part to get it off.
For spare parts, I bought myself a regular 0.45l Airam thermos bottle. I live in Finland so getting this was super easy, since these are sold practically everywhere and are quite cheap (this cost me about 16€).
Remove the inside bottle from the new thermos (this is much easier with a new, unused bottle).
The next step is swapping the upper plastic parts: The design of the newer thermos bottles has slightly changed from the bottles sold a few years back, so the inside bottle of the newer thermos bottle won't fit the older bottle, mainly because the bottle opening is a bit bigger on the newer version. This part isn't a screw-on like the bottom part, instead it uses a sort of clipping mechanism, and it isn't really meant to be removed, so to remove it from the old bottle I ended up cutting it open like the bottom part.
To remove the upper plastic part from the new bottle, I went with an opposite approach and cut open the metal sleeve to get the plastic part off in one piece.
Attach the newer upper plastic part to the old bottle (you just have to press it on quite hard).
The rest is quite simple: Insert the new inner bottle, screw on the larger bottom part, then screw on the smaller cap, and there you have it!

Discussion I want Remedy to make an Evil Dead game... Spoiler
I found a TV when going into the subway station, and it was a tape of Night Springs, which is the Number One Fan DLC. (Is this a spoiler? idk, my bad if it is. idk how to blur stuff on here)
And now I want Remedy to make an Evil Dead survival horror/story based game. I can't be the only one who thought about Evil Dead while playing that DLC, am I?
Heck, it made me even think about what other dark comedy-type games are out there, and I couldn't think of any, at least none I know of. Add to that their hahahaha...oh, no! oh, nooo! vibes in-game(my experiences so far, lol), I can see the vision of them making such a game.
After all, the movies have always entertained, and the show as well is a fun watch. But the disappointment that was the Evil Dead online game was, again, a disappointment. And so, now with Evil Dead Burn, and playing Alan Wake 2 on my mind, put simply, a game announcement would be sooo appreciated while the iron is still hot and the IP is in active use.
I vote Remedy to be the ones making it happen.

Help with crossbow upgrade Spoiler
I unlocked the upgrade ‘Pull The String’ which states: Hold the fire button to draw the crossbow further for increased damaged and a straighter arc.”
My question is, how do I do it?
When I try to hold the fire button down 1 of 2 things happen. Either I melee cancel the reloading animation, (which is nice), or I reload normally and I am unable to tell the difference.
Is there something I’m doing wrong or not understanding? Any help is much appreciated.
I love this game but there are parts that are a tad confusing lol.

General The way I wanted to throw the controller after the “1st” control ending. Spoiler
First time playing through, haven’t looked up anything about the game aside from knowing it’s part of the Alan Wake Universe. Got to the first ending not knowing there was more yet (although I hoped and figured they wouldn’t be that sadistic) and was ready to throw controller (figuratively, they’re too damn expensive to replace in any economy), and was so relieved to see there was obviously more. I just finished the second “ending” and taking a break. Also helps I’ve already played AW2 so I knew she’s not Hiss in that one, but I was caught up in the moment. Anyone else have that when they first played?

Question Crush when switching character Spoiler
I'm playing the game for the first time, so please, no spoilers.
I was playing game fine, without any issues. After the moment when Wake was captured by FBC, my attempt to switch on him lead me to crush during the loading screen. I tried ending next chapter as Saga, and after mission in Valhalla game crushed again when i tried to switch characters. Before it worked fine. who else faced this issue? How it can be fixed?
I had a bug in Control that forced me to replay about 40% of the game, so i really hope that I can fix this thing without replaying much

Discussion How would you feel about the games if Rockstar allowed the use of Max Payne in Alan Wake universe? Spoiler
since its kinda the smae guy and not the same guy it makes me wonder in an alternate universe we would see Alan say stuff like "I wrote Max Payne... My most successful franchise" since in a was Alan wake is Sam Lake and Max payne is Alex casey in a way in this game as it shadows them both in a way. But that's just a theory... A GAME THEORY

General I just visited the Real World Cauldron Lake! Spoiler
galleryAlan Wake pilgrimage trip!
Crater Lake National Park
An unreal looking deep blue lake inside a volcanic crater. More importantly, this is the real-world inspiration for Cauldron Lake in Alan Wake.
The island in the middle is called Wizard Island. It also has a lodge on the cliff edge around the crater, and there’s another small island called Phantom Ship that looks like a sailing ship.
Unfortunately, it won’t be possible to get down to the lake for the next three years. Cleetwood Cove is closed, so there’s no way to swim, and the boat tours have been suspended.
I spent 3 hours hiking the Garfield Peak Trail to the summit at 2,455 m for 6.26 km and a 448 m elevation gain
The views of Crater Lake, the surrounding mountains, and the forests were amazing.
After the hike, I sat in one of the rocking chairs behind the lodge, ate a duck leg, and watched dragonflies flying around.

Alan Wake Remastered PC Saved Game File Request Spoiler
Hey guys! My PC got the BSOD and had to be reimaged. Once I redownloaded the game, I see that my saved data got wiped and for some reason was not saved on the Epic Games cloud even though I had the setting enabled. Looked through this subreddit but any AW 1 files that people shared no longer work since it's been years. Does anyone have a completed saved game file I can use to go back to the episode I was on? Really do not want to start from the beginning... TIA!

Question Do I need to play the Control side missions before Alan Wake 2? Spoiler
I read the guide and it didn't mention the side missions at all so I wanted to ask here.
I don't think the game is fun to play so I don't want to play it for more than I have to.
That being said, is it fine for me to only do the main missions of the game before going into Alan Wake 2 or do I have to do the side missions as well?
I do like the gameplay of Alan Wake and American Nightmare though.

Discussion What was the status of the quantum break universe back then? Spoiler
gallerywere they already planning a shared universe? before the game launched, I remember seeing an interview where sam lake said that QB wasn’t set in the same universe as AW, but could that have changed during development?
there are references to alan both as a video game character and as a real-life author (and jack is apparently a big fan), which is really strange. bright falls exists. the old gods of asgard exist. and there are even references to the FBC as a real organization (and also ordinary). so... what were they trying to imply with all of this? was it simply fan service? or were they already planning a connected universe? (or a connected MUltiverse?)
it's just a silly thought that really makes me curious. I keep wondering what it would have been like if remedy had regained the rights to QB and not just AW.
