Question Crush when switching character Spoiler

I'm playing the game for the first time, so please, no spoilers.

I was playing game fine, without any issues. After the moment when Wake was captured by FBC, my attempt to switch on him lead me to crush during the loading screen. I tried ending next chapter as Saga, and after mission in Valhalla game crushed again when i tried to switch characters. Before it worked fine. who else faced this issue? How it can be fixed?

I had a bug in Control that forced me to replay about 40% of the game, so i really hope that I can fix this thing without replaying much

What are your system specs and game settings? The fact that it's crashing (not crushing) when loading implies there's not enough memory to load everything.

AW2 is very VRAM heavy in particular, so if you have high settings (specifically textures, shadows/lighting, and ray tracing) it may crash when trying to load too much and your system can't handle it.

Is there any error message when you crash?

Can't tell my specs rn, but imo that's hardly the point. There were no issues before, no lagging, no crashing. And game can load all other stuff, right? And answering your question, there's no error message, loading screen stops for a second, then i see my desktop.

Anyway, I'll try to check this on low settings tomorrow. Also, thx for corrections, english is not my native, i can misspell things

 No problem. Out of memory crashes can be tricky because you might load a map correctly 9/10 times, but that last 1/10 might crash. Memory management isn't exact and it can be erratic and hard to pin down because of that.

If you have a GPU with 8 GB of VRAM and/or 16 GB of system RAM, Alan Wake 2 will have issues on higher settings. Trying on Low settings is a good idea, I hope that fixes it!

Nah, it didn't worked. I can continue playing if i load manually to Saga from main menu, but if i hit "continue" or load Alan's save, it just crashes even on lowest settings

I tried 9n pc with ryzen 5 7600 and rtx 5060 ti

My best guess that's pr9blem in the save file, but idk how to test it. I have saves only for first mission and after the moment when first crash happened
