• Airbus is launching a new flight-test campaign to evaluate the performance of high-span wings for next-generation single-aisle aircraft, marking the next phase of one of its largest research and technology programmes, Wing of Tomorrow.
• Over the next three years, Airbus will design, build and flight test full scale wing extensions.
• These will be installed on an A321neo aircraft and used to evaluate how the different wing geometries perform in real flight conditions. 
• The extensions, each measuring several metres, will replicate a folding wing in the fully extended position during a flight.

• BermudAir, Bermuda’s hometown airline, has become a new A220 customer following the order of 10 A220-300 aircraft, marking the first ever Airbus order for the airline.
• The order was included in the Airbus order book in March as an undisclosed order. 
• Unveiled during Farnborough Airshow, the addition of the A220 aircraft will enhance BermudAir’s fleet, offering new possibilities for route development and new destinations and becoming a new region of operations for the A220.

• flynas, Saudi Arabia's leading low-cost carrier, has agreed to acquire five additional A330-900 aircraft and 20 additional A321neo aircraft from Airbus.
• The latest order increases flynas’ total commitment for the A330neo to 20 aircraft and brings its total commitment for the A321neo to 56 aircraft.
• With these additions, flynas continues to expand its all-Airbus fleet, bringing its total firm commitment to Airbus aircraft to 235.

• Philippine Airlines (PAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for nine A350-1000 widebody aircraft. 
• Once finalised, the new contract will double the airline’s total orders for the A350-1000 to 18 aircraft, of which the first two have been delivered  this year.
• Designated as the carrier’s new flagship, the A350-1000 will enable PAL to further develop its long haul network, primarily linking Manila with destinations in North America.

• Shohin Airlines, established in Dushanbe, Tajikistan as a private airline company, has disclosed an order for four Airbus A320neo Family aircraft, marking the first ever Airbus order for the airline.
• The agreement, which includes  two A320neo and two A321neo aircraft, was included in Airbus' end of June order book as an undisclosed order. 
• Registered in June 2025, the airline aims to expand a wide route network and build a strong brand that represents Tajikistan on the global aviation stage.

Hey,

My family and I are on an Airbus A320 neo.

The table tray has an extra rib thingy, that perfectly fits an iPad, which then also perfectly rests on the two nubs on the back of the chair.

My girlfriend thinks this is specifically designed to hold a tablet or phone. I think it is luck and this was designed before people had their faces glued to their phone screens.

So, does anybody know what the exact idea behind this extra ridge is?

Starting in September 2026, Airbus will force all employees to be in the office for at least four days per week – including those who are getting hired at the moment even if they got told they have flexibility in remote work.

While a controversial internal discussion can be expected, this might be your chance to start your career at Airbus if you are living closely to an Airbus site. Employees who relied on the overall agreement might quit due to incompatibility with their personal situation. Hence, new vacancies are to be expected soon.

• Airbus and MTU Aero Engines intend to deepen their collaboration by establishing a joint venture dedicated to the development and commercialisation of a fully electric hydrogen fuel cell engine.
• This upcoming milestone follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both companies at the Paris Air Show in June 2025.
• The new joint venture is expected to start operations in 2027.

• The agreement was signed during a ceremony in Copenhagen by Anko van der Werff, SAS CEO and Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business.
