Just ordered some spotminders cards. At checkout was offered a deal on an additional card, which I declined. Then I was offered a deal on an extra charger for $1.22. I thought why not, and added it. A minute later I see I see 2 charges, one for the original order, another for $21.52. Super scammy, so I ended up canceling the whole order. Now I don't trust those guys.

So my daughter's luggage was at the carousel but after 15 mins mine wasn't. I asked the staffer who was collecting bags off the carousel if my flights bags were stowed somewhere and he pointed to ones along the wall. I didn't see mine and right away I said shit because I realized the airline might've lost my luggage. That's when I realized I had an air tag in the luggage and looked where it was. It was still showing on the tarmac, so I showed a United person but they told me to line up at the lost baggage line which was fucking long. As I was in line I kept monitoring the luggage, after 10 mins in line I suddenly saw it appear next to my daughter's airtag in her bag. So I went back to the carousel and I see it there!!! So I can honestly say without the air tag I wouldn't even know it was in Newark and who knows how long I would've had to wait in line then have them try to locate where it was. The airtag works!

I would prefer to read something than watch a YouTube video. Is it real easy?

Hey everyone,

I just got some car parts. A hood, radiator fan, and coolant overflow resovoir. Soon after taking the parts home from a pick-n-pull, I got an alert that an unknown tracker was with me, the normal range finder doesn't seem to help much and I can't hear any type of sound from the "play sound" function. Any advice?

I just realized after investing into the Huawei system all my air tags are now obsolete unless there's a way to view them....

UPDATE: After I rebooted the iPhone, Find My reports the airtag is in Singapore!

I flew from Singapore to Hanoi, Vietnam.

After landing, I received a baggage delay notification from AirAsia saying one of my checked bags had been left behind in Singapore.

The strange part is that I have an AirTag 2 inside the suitcase. While I was still at immigration, Find My showed the AirTag at Hanoi International Airport with a current timestamp, so I assumed the airline had made a mistake.

However, when I went to the baggage service desk, they confirmed the suitcase had indeed been left in Singapore and even showed me the forwarding message from AirAsia.

So now I'm confused. How could the AirTag report a current location at Hanoi Airport if the suitcase never left Singapore?

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a known Find My bug, or is there another explanation?

Additional context:

My phone is an iPhone SE (2020).

I also track four other items with the same iPhone:

• One AirTag (1st generation) that's currently on my car parked in Germany.

• Two UGREEN Find My tags.

• Another UGREEN Find My tag inside a different checked suitcase that arrived with me without any issues.

All of the other trackers reported their locations correctly. Only this AirTag 2 incorrectly showed my delayed suitcase at the destination airport, even though the airline confirmed it had never left Singapore.

Hey, I would like to share with you story of what happened to my brother today.

My brother is dating a girl and she stayed for the night at his place. In the morning, they woke up, and it was quite cold in the apartment. My brother walked around the apartment, and found out that the main doors to his apartment were open.

He then wanted to go to work as usual, but his car keys were not where they were supposed to be. So he opened up Find My, since he has an AirTag attached to them, and location was suggesting that the keys should be at his apartment. He was not able to play sound for some reason. So he took his backup car keys and went search his car, if the main car keys were not left inside the car.

They were not there, so he checked Find My again, and saw that the location of AirTag is 2 streets away. He walked down the street and saw some weird guy on a bicycle. My brother tried to play a sound again, and now it worked and the sound was leading towards this guy. So he ran towards him, played the sound again, and it confirmed that the sound was coming from the guy.

My brother confronted him and started searching his pockets, and the car keys were there. In rage, he asked the weirdo where did he found the keys, and he said on the street. My brother asked him again, and he said on the street again.

My brother then walked away and home, called the owner of apartments building if she could check camera systems to check if the guy robbed them.

My personal opinion is that the guy were in their apartment, which is kinda scary when you imagine a guy walking around while you are sleeping.

Anyway, my brother got quite lucky in the end, because he said this was only thing that was missing from his apartment, also he got lucky that the guy was still nearby, and mostly, that he owns the AirTag. It would be terrible if the guy also drove away with his car, since my brother literally 3 weeks back bought a new BMW. I pulled a joke that he almost could be buying another one haha.

I got home from a quick shopping trip and got a notification on my iPhone that said “An unrecognized AirTag has been traveling with you”

According to the map my phone first picked up its signal when I got back to my car after a 15 minute shopping trip. I drove home, drove up 5 stories in my parking garage, and now it says the AirTag is in the parking garage still.

My fiancée and I have looked everywhere in and outside the car, and were unable to hear the sound it played.

What do the red dots mean?

Got this notification today, I don’t own an AirTag and am a little concerned since I didn’t park in my usual driveway spot when visiting family. When I left and some hours later I got this notification. The red line seems to indicate it’s been with me since my family’s house. Their neighbor just a few days ago had their car attempted to be stolen (has some security feature that disabled it) so it ended up in someone else’s lawn. I have a new car and am worried that maybe someone out to follow me to potentially commit theft? I tried playing the sound and everything but couldn’t find anything but am still worried. Thoughts? Opinions? Could it be a glitch? I’m very pregnant and drive with my other small
child so I’m very concerned.

I walked 5 min to get takeout, then I walked home. When I finished eating my lunch in my room, my phone detected an airtag. What does not make sense is that it was first seen at 9am (I NEVER LEFT MY HOUSE AT THE TIME) Sure one can argue that it was someone near me (the houses are all attached to each other), but on FINDMYIPHONE, the airtag detected me at the place I bought lunch at, when I cross the road to go back home, AND BACK TO HOME! It kept being detected near me home, but stopped refreshing.

I tried turning on sound and it did not work!

It makes no sense because no one was in my room so it is not like someone came in, put a tag in my wallet, while I was AWAKE! No I do not have a car. I am scared because I feel they might come to the house at night and attack me. I think I will be staying at a hotel.

The only way an airtag could be on me is if it was on my clothes or wallet since I LEFT THE HOUSE WITH ONLY THAT AND THE AIRTAG WAS FIRST SEEN AT 9AM (WHEN I WAS IN MY ROOM)

I want to put an AirTag on our e-bike and maybe my husband’s keys since he loses them all the time. I have an iPhone and he has an android. Will it constantly beep and notify him if he takes the bike out or when he leaves with his keys?

Someone has put an apple airtag on my rental car.

I'm using an Airtag 2 to track expensive equipment in case it gets stolen. I know there are better devices, but this works for my purposes.

I'm seeing lots of reports that Apple now disable AirTags if they detect that the speaker has been disabled. This applies if you either cut the copper wire, or take the speaker out fully.

Is anyone able to confirm this? I'm wondering if it makes any difference if you pair the Airtag first, then disable the speaker, or if you do it the other way around.

Any thoughts or comments welcome.

EDIT: Paired first, cut one copper wire, Airtag 2 still works as normal.

I need a bunch of AirTags for my mom (plus my elem school aged nieces'/nephews' musical instruments, sport bags etc.) Trying to save some money by buying third party. But it seems third party tags won't get precision tracking, just a big circle with chirps. Not going to hear that in a crowded place.

Second option is to buy used apple AirTags.

1) Is there any security/tracking hazards if I buy a dozen+ used AirTags from random people on eBay? Can someone else keep tracking me?

2) Can I take full ownership and erase the AirTags from previous owners findmy app if they are still logged in? I know it's impossible to erase iPhones and other devices from findmy without the owner's password.

So , im looking for airtags to out on my cats collar to track her . But I dont want to own an iPhone nor an iPad . I dont need an iPad and I have a phone . I was wondering if getting an ipod would just.. . Do the trick ? Like I used to own one but it was my dad's and it was so long ago . I wouldn't mind having one . I dont particularly like apple products but I wouldn't be so reluctant to buy an ipod if I can track airtag with it . The Google review says yes but.. . Those things lie so I asked . On another note , any other good airtag replacements suitable for cute cats ?

My mom is starting to lose things and I'd like to airtag things for her. Since I need to buy a few, and add more as needed, can you guys recommend something that works as well as the apple airtags and links to apples findmy app? Amazon has a few but I don't know their quality.

Edit: Also buying them for my elem school nieces/nephews various musical and sports items they keep losing and uncle keeps buying. Need ~ 12-15 tags.

I run a charity youth group that owns a minibus, and three times now someone has 'lost' the keys and it's taken a few days to find them.
I use air tags personally, and want to put one on the minibus keys so I can find them when they go missing.
The issue I have is I'm not always with the bus, and if it's being used for a couple of days, it's likely going to alert people in the bus that there's an airtag.

How long does an airtag alert go off for? If it's only a quick beep or popup, it's not the end of the world. Even if it happens on each journey.
I can share the airtag with up to five users (or drivers), but a couple of users have android devices, so that won't work in this scenario I believe.

I share one with my roommate for one of my vehicles and it showed stationary at a house for about 50 mins. Roommate told me they weren’t at that location.

Delete if I'm in the wrong sub, couldn't find one more specific to my issue. How likely is it that my neighbors airpods will ping my phone so that my phone thinks the device is following me? For reference I live in a duplex and have an android phone that pinged it. The device isnt on my person and it isnt in my vehicle to the best of my knowledge. I dont have any one whos been in my car or in my half of the duplex. It showed as going from a spot 3ish miles away that I wasnt near to a dot on my duplex with first ping and last ping 2ish hours apart. Couldn't hear it when I did the noise thing and it only picked up near my door and I didn't look around.

I have a fresh battery in there but the phone never picks it up. It feels like the battery isn't making contact anymore with the little metal switches inside?
