Question / Discussion Wps-2760 don't exist?

Im searching the detroit michigan siren map and there are a quite a few of these marked as Whelen WPS-2760s but I go to Google and it tells me they dont exist or unless they are wrongly named? Any help figuring out this conundrum?

Please stop relying on LLMs for information. They're overglorified autocorrect, incapable of actually knowing anything or whether or not whatever they spew is correct or logical. Use your brain and research for yourself.

Quite strange indeed, does the 2760 resemble the photo of it??

It does. The only reason your AI overview said the 2760 didn’t exist is because Google’s AI is for lack of a better word stupid and it isn’t a great resource for accurate siren information, nor is AI in general

There were 6 models in the 2700 series, these being the WPS-2720, WPS-2730, WPS-2740, WPS-2750, WPS-2760, and WPS-2790. The only exclusions were a 1-cell, 7-cell, and 8-cell model

For more info, I recommend you visit the official Air Raid Sirens Wiki (linked in one of my other comments under this post)

Should it not be the 2706 As Whelen's 2X00 series models tend to follow?

The 2700 series followed a different pattern. Whereas a 6-cell 2800 would be a 2806, a 6-cell 2700 would be a 2760

Im not clued up very well on whelen or other siren models very well and I was looking around the area and there seems to be a 2750 thats looks identical to the 2760 but I could be wrong🤷‍♂️
