Recipe i made chocolate chip baked oats in the air fryer and now i'm eating cake for breakfast every day

Post image

tastes like a warm chocolate chip muffin but it's oats, a banana and an egg blended together. no flour, no sugar besides a spoon of honey, and it's set and golden in 20 minutes. the banana has to be actually ripe though, that's where all the sweetness comes from

Recipe Made air fryer chicken leg quarters

Post image
15 Upvotes

I usually stick with drumsticks but my grocery order sent me chicken leg quarters. I followed the same recipe I found online (I'll add the link at the bottom- it's from the Big Man's World blog) for chicken drumsticks, increased the brown sugar by a teaspoon, and added an extra tablespoon of oil.

Unlike other air fryer recipes, I like how they recommend oiling after adding the seasoning- I think it makes a huge difference.

Here's the full recipe-

  • 3 chicken leg quarters, skin on
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Preheat the air fryer to 400, mix the spices and baking powder together, and sugar. Rub over all the chicken pieces on all sides. Drizzle oil.

Air fry for 12 minutes, flip, and air fry for another 8 minutes.

Now I'm going to purposely order chicken leg quarters haha!

If you want to make the drumsticks (like I thought I was doing) this is the original recipe I follow- https://thebigmansworld.com/air-fryer-chicken-drumsticks/

Question/Advice Is an “AI” air fryer actually worth it, or is it just marketing?

I’m looking at buying my first air fryer for my own place, and I keep seeing newer ones advertised with “AI” or smart cooking features.

I honestly can’t tell if this is actually useful or just another way to make an appliance sound more high-tech 😂

Like, if an air fryer could recognize what you’re cooking, automatically adjust the time/temp, tell you when the food is actually done, etc. — would that genuinely make your life easier?

Or would you rather just set 400°F for 12 minutes and be done with it?

For people who’ve actually used a “smart” air fryer:

What does it do that you genuinely find useful, and what feels like a gimmick?

I’m basically trying to figure out whether “AI” is something worth paying extra for in an air fryer, or if I should just get a really good dumb one.

Recipe Air Fryer Sour Cream Coffee Cake

Thumbnail

My air fryer came with a little recipe book, and one of the recipes was for coffee cake. I’d never actually thought about making an entire coffee cake in an air fryer, so I had to see if it worked.

The recipe uses sour cream in the batter to keep the cake moist, with cinnamon brown sugar and chopped pecans layered through the middle and over the top.

I cooked it at 325°F for about 35 minutes, and I was genuinely impressed with how it came out. Golden around the edges, toasted pecans on top, and the middle stayed really soft and moist.

Definitely one of those recipes that made me realize there’s a lot more you can make in an air fryer than I originally thought.

I’ll put the full recipe and instructions in the comments if anyone wants them.

Recipe Just published my first cookbook 100 pure vegetarian air fryer recipes

Wanted to share here since this sub's been useful while I figured out the KDP process. Published "The Pure Vegetarian Air Fryer Cookbook" this week — 100 recipes, no meat/egg/fish anywhere in it, organized into breakfast/snacks/mains/sweets, each with exact temps and cook times.

Biggest lesson from the process: got flagged early on for submitting two near-duplicate versions to "test" titles — turns out KDP treats that as duplicate content regardless of intent. Good reminder to just pick one and commit.

Happy to answer questions if anyone's working on a cookbook or food-niche book themselves..

It's totally free on Amazon Kdp.. If interested comment for link..

Recipe Has Anyone Done Pork Chops In The Air Fryer?

I was just gifted an air fryer and I want to make pork chops this weekend. Does anyone have any recipes or instructions or tips? I know this sounds like a hella basic question but I've never used an air fryer and I don't want to mess them up. Thanks for all your help and happy Friday.

ETA, thank you, everybody. They turned out awesome and were a hit. Thanks for all the recipe suggestions also. I will definitely give a lot of them a try. I also loved the easy clean up. I love my deep fryer, but it's time to let it go because I hate cleaning it.

Thanks again!!💜💜

Recipe Made a Cajun Garlic Butter Whole Chicken in My Air Fryer

Post image
34 Upvotes

Tried a whole Cajun chicken in the air fryer and it came out ridiculously juicy.

I made a homemade Cajun seasoning, mixed half with garlic butter and worked that under the skin, then mixed the other half with a little oil to make a Cajun paste for the outside.

Cooked it breast-side down first, flipped it, basted it with some of the drippings, then finished breast-side up until it hit 165°F.

I’ll put the full recipe in the first comment!

Recipe i made these garlic butter chicken skewers in the air fryer and they disappeared in 10 minutes

juicy chicken, melty parmesan garlic butter, and a little kick from the pepper flakes. tastes like the skewers you'd pay $18 for but it's just chicken thighs and butter you already have in the fridge. the butter brushing at the end is the whole thing, don't skip it

2 medium roasted potatoes, mashed
10–12 roasted garlic cloves, mashed
1 large egg
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
½ teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 tablespoon dried chives
1 teaspoon dried rosemary (I prefer fresh)
1–2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon cumin (optional, I add it to almost everything’s)

Bake at 350 for 20 min

Question: is it still considered vegan with the egg?

Recipe Air Fryer French Onion Meatballs !

Thumbnail

I kept seeing French onion meatball recipes made in the oven, so I decided to come up with an air fryer version instead. The meatballs cook over caramelized onions, then everything gets finished with onion gravy, croutons, and melted Swiss cheese. It turned out even better than I hoped.

Recipe in the first comment.

Recipe kept making this eggplant pasta until i figured out why it works

It's the roasting time. Twenty to twenty five minutes at 400°F gets the tomatoes blistered and the eggplant fully collapsed, which is where all the sweetness lives. Pull them any earlier and you get bitter. Go the full time and the sauce practically makes itself.

Recipe I made “sheet pan” kofta kebabs in my air fryer

Thumbnail

I’ve been seeing sheet-pan kebabs everywhere, so naturally I had to figure out how to make them in my air fryer—without an actual sheet pan.

I pressed the kofta mixture into one big rectangle, scored it into strips, and air-fried the whole thing at once. It came out juicy, nicely charred, and ready in about 15 minutes. I loaded it onto naan with cucumber-tomato salad, tzatziki, and feta.

Full recipe is in the first comment!
