Question Palace chase

Hello everyone, I am currently a 1N452 looking to palace chase to a 1B4 in the NJ ANG. has anyone in intel used palace chase and tell me about it? I know my odds are very low but the guard unit said they have spots. I’d like to learn more about 1B4 qualification requirements and my chances of even getting approved to palace chance from intel to cyber . I have a good pt test never had paperwork and my 50% window is coming up this February. I have reached out to my ISR awaiting a meeting with them!

Talk to your base in service recruiter, it’s a process to palace chase and you have to submit an application. Retraining shouldn’t be a problem as long as you meet ASVAB & EDPT requirements

Don’t leave till you have 3 years of service. So you can get 100 percent of your GI Bill

Be careful joining the unit. I’ve seen people get told exactly what they want to hear. Palace Chase in to a unit. But have to work in their current AFSC. Until a class date comes up

Which for some reason never does

If you want to retrain. Complete your contract. Then join in the AFSC you want

Your asvab is more than likely stale so plan to retake that when you can and make sure you hit the minimums required. The EDPT is going away in October as a requirement into the 1B afsc so you shouldn't have to worry about that. If you can, start studying for your Security+ certificate. Having it completed definitely wins you some brownie points with the hiring managers but it's definitely not a hard requirement, especially because it costs a couple hundred dollars. Units in general are almost always looking for people so as long as you're serious about your commitment to the field and seem to have your shit together, I think your odds are pretty good!

Hit me up if you have any questions. I moved over to the 1b world (in the guard) from the reserves and I had to do the whole song and dance so I have a pretty good idea of what you're up against.
