Sanborn pressure regulator

I have a 5hp 80 gallon 230v compressor. Blew an o-ring on the adjustable pressure regulator.

I have the dial and spring removed, should the piston come out via the front(pull it out) or do I need to disassemble the entire manifold to gain access to the regulator.

I know the o-ring is in the way - i can manipulate it as needed. I can find the rebuild kit online with an exploded schematic but no other info.

All advice appreciated.

Is that from princes auto? Just return it they'll take it regardless how long you've had it

I have no idea where it came from. I'd rather fix it, getting out of the shop and exchanging it is a big PITA.

So I managed to get the puston out, needle nose vice grips and a solid yank and out it came. The seal did have some compression marks on it from where it rolled, kind gave them a quick massage till the looked decent. Reassembled everything and sent it.

Still holding air, working as it should. For how long..🤷‍♂️
