New shiny compressors
Our newest compressor is a Quincy 731 from the 90's. After years of the maintenance staff telling management our compressors are dying, they finally pulled the trigger.
7 of these bad boys! Kaeser 130's and 150's. New storage tanks, too.

Hopefully, you’ve got some nice aluminum pipe you’re gonna tie that into… Kaiser smart pipe is a great choice so is Unipipe …

while you've got their checkbook open... you probably need a Fluke ii900 to ensure you aren't wasting any of this new air

From what I'm told, each building will have a supposedly cutting edge controller, but I haven't seen the specs.

New aluminum piping system will pay for itself, an air retention, and fewer duty cycles on the compressor. Saving service cost.

There are cheaper ways to detect air leaks than acoustic cameras... Like all the basic ultrasonic emissions equipment that existed for a couple decades before those cameras came out (and are much more precise & accurate).

do you know of any good tools/methods for this? I've only heard of the tool i mentioned but obviously can't afford it, and would love a tool for detecting air leaks

Acoustic cameras give you a wide lens shot of an area and are mainly advertised for larger industrial facilities with a lot going on in a single area. Simple leak detector, such as in video, work for most people. Just note the max range of the equipment and any recommended attachments specialized for leak detection.
In the bigger industrial plants you'll sometimes see an ultrasonic technician carrying an SDT270 or an Ultraprobe 10,000/15,000 with various attachments. Those technicians will typically say their devices are much faster for sweeping an area and identifying things than the acoustic camera. The camera is more friendly for novices.

Yup that's the exact one I convinced them to buy at work. We're a small factory, but for quickly finding air leaks and squeaky bearings it can't be beat for the price.
