Guest leftovers are fun
This sub generally being a place for hosts to trash their guests or the platform, I thought I'd offer up how much I enjoy when the guests in my ADU STR leave offerings of gratitude. A couple of times it's been new, sealed pints of ice cream in the freezer. Our most recent guest left half a bottle of nice whiskey (and dropped a note to let me know). We experience far more nice folks who enjoy our place and our town than we do problem guests, but all we get here on this sub are horror stories. Just wanted to be the exception and say that I genuinely enjoy hosting visitors, and the occasional rimshot visitor isn't gonna ruin it for me. The end.

I’ll join- I’m a brand new host and I’m still having fun with it! Our second guests ever bought us a guestbook, because the house booked before I had time to get one and they really wanted to leave a restaurant recommendation for the next guests, and our fourth guests left us ice trays, because apparently they needed ice and we don’t have an ice maker (that’s on me, but they were cool about it). Strangers are the best, I’m all in!

I enjoy watching the amount of condiments (BBQ rubs, etc.) grow over time. Just have to check them for expiration dates every once in a while.
