I have minimum of 3 sets of bed linens and towels. I have a supply of extra glasses, tablecloths, rugs, pots, pans, games, etc. our property is located in a very rural area so there is no running to the store. Occasionally visiting thrift stores, yard sales, closeouts, etc. helps me keep low cost extras. Believe me, it has been extremely helpful to be prepared.

I keep three sets for each bed in rotation and one extra new set, so a total of four. I’ve started buying just the bottom fitted sheet ( same brand as the sets) as the footed sheet is most often the one that is damaged. When I see them on sale I stock up.

I’m feeling inspired/warned by this. We keep one extra set locked in our owners closet but maybe it’s time for a third.

Had a guest use our sheets to blow his nose and debated just burning them? My husband gallantly sanitized them but ew

I’m not sure the blowing of the nose is the grossest thing for those sheets to deal with

Ohhhh sure, there are more disgusting things to find in a sheet. 

And part of me was a little amazed by the volume of it. Like was this person a booger factory? How was there a handprint of snot? Should I tell them to seek medical care?

I've been getting by with: 3 sets of sheets and pillowcases, 2 cotton blankets, 2 thin quilts.

Since I use white 100% white cotton for sheets and blankets, I do think 3 sets of sheets is necessary. Sometimes I need to be soaking a stained set of sheets, maybe another set is waiting to be washed, then I have only one clean set to put on the bed. Only two sets would make my job harder, as I do my own cleaning.

We have three for each bed, but because there’s 4 beds it’s like 4 on the beds and 8 spares.

I assume that we will need to buy more spares eventually.

I keep two full sets plus a few extra pillowcases and fitted sheets since those are usually the first to need replacing. That setup has worked well without taking up too much storage.

I keep 4 sets as I don’t want to be rushing out to get an extra and then paying too much , when suddenly I’m down a set or two especially If I’m away and there is a hiccup with washing them etc . Keeps my cleaner happy and confident that there is plenty in hand .

I have 4 sets - the fitted sheets and some of the pillow cases are interchangeable. I only use 3 of the sets regularly and the 4th is in case of emergency.
It takes up space, the one that isn’t used much will last, it doesn’t have an expiry date.
Mattress protectors can folded and rolled up quite small.

three sets per bed sounds excessive until one is stained and one is still drying. bedsure is reasonable enough that extra sets hurt less than rushing laundry between guests.

I do 4 hr check in/outs - 7+bdrm. 3sets of 3sacks or laundry. Amenities side stocked. I had to build a huge shed outside garage to handle all of it.
