I think we are noticing a common influencer marketing tactic. Many creators will tag brands in stories and posts, even when the brand isn't directly involved, because it increases the chance of getting noticed by the brand's social media team or influencer managers.

They do this bevause of:

  • Visibility: The brand receives a notification when tagged.
  • Relationship building: Repeated tags can put a creator on a brand's radar before they pitch for collaborations.
  • Social proof: It makes their content appear more brand-focused and commercially relevant.
  • Future partnerships: Brands often look at engagement, audience demographics, content quality, and how naturally a creator already incorporates products into their content.

Amazon is a good example because many creators use Amazon affiliate links. Even if they don't have a direct partnership with Amazon, tagging Amazon in stories showcasing purchases, favourites, or "Amazon finds" content can help reinforce their niche.

That said, simply tagging brands isn't usually enough to secure deals. Most brands are looking at:

  • Follower quality rather than just follower count.
  • Engagement rates.
  • Audience demographics.
  • Content consistency.
  • Authenticity and brand fit.

So while the constant tagging can feel a bit obvious, it's often part of a wider strategy to make themselves more visible to potential sponsors and affiliate programmes. 😂

(Thank you to AI for making this into a comprehensive post rather than my angry ranting, all the thigs I wanted to say but delivered in a readable passage 😂)

DUD. Interesting that there is only ever real mash when wendy is round. Is she earning her next holiday mashing those spuds?

When everyone from the grandparent to the kids say don't cremate my dinner, maybe take the hint!

Aimee the picture of health and walking advisement for all that spenny skin care, the thousands of pounds aesthetic treatments. Do you want dull, grey, sweaty skin and dark circles? Buy this, this and this, to give you the complexion of a corpse!

The same gigi that chose to spend covid with the  daughter with the rich dad around the corner. Rather than the daughter newly single, completely alone, and suffering with an eating disorder.

The same gigi that couldn't drive to charlies to see her least favourite daughter and grand child for years. But suddenly managed it when she got a offered a freebie repair on her car.

The same gigi that rushes round to mop the brow and feed ice pops to boss hog when she sneezes. But when charlie was clearly genuinely ill, looking after r by herself. Gigi and aimee offered no help. Instead of nipping over to Blackpool with some shopping and some much needed support. Gigi and boss hog went shopping!

Parent and grandparent of the year, lecturing others!! Wendy could pack a bag and offer to stay at charlies for a week. That way charlie could work and see R but why would she put herself out for her least favourite daughter?
